“General Hospital” spoilers and rumors tease that there could be another “Who’s Your Daddy” (or in this case “Who’s Your Mommy”) storyline on the ABC soap very soon. Since it was revealed over a year ago on “General Hospital” that Ava Jerome’s daughter Kiki (Hailey Erin) was the daughter of Silas Clay, rumors have been floating around that Nina might actually be Kiki’s biological mother. And it looks like the storylines in Port Charles are gearing up to finally make the big reveal, spoilers are teasing that there may actually be some truth to the rumors.
It was revealed on “General Hospital” that Nina’s crazy mother Madeline (Donna Mills) paid Ava to seduce Nina’s husband Silas and have an affair with him 20 years ago. And Kiki is allegedly the product of Silas and Ava’s affair. Ironically, Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) was also pregnant 20 years ago, at the same time that Ava was supposedly pregnant. When Madeline learned that her daughter was pregnant with Silas’s baby and planned to stay with him even though he cheated on her with Ava, Madeline drugged her daughter with a nearly-lethal dose of anti-depressants in hopes of making her have a miscarriage. Only, the drugs actually caused Nina to go in to a two decade long coma.
When Nina Clay awoke from her coma she assumed she had a miscarriage – and no one ever told her otherwise. So, you can imagine how livid she was when she learned that even though she lost her baby, Ava Jerome (Maura West) had a healthy baby girl with her husband Silas, and named her Kiki. “General Hospital” spoilers and rumors have been teasing for months now that Nina may have carried her baby to full term while she was in a coma – and after the doctors delivered it Madeline passed it off to Ava and paid her to raise it as her own and keep the secret.
Why would Madeline try to kill her own granddaughter and then pay off someone to raise her as her own? The same reason Madeline does everything – money. If Nina Clay had a child, then her entire inheritance would be passed on to that child and Madeline wouldn’t be able to get her hand on it. There have been several clues along the way that Kiki is actually Nina’s daughter. The first and obvious – she is 20 years old, and Nina’s baby would be 20 years old now. Then, there is the fact that when Ava was pregnant with her daughter, Avery, she was reading a book for “First Time Mothers.” If Ava had actually given birth to Kiki, she would know what to expect when she was expecting.
Another obvious sign that Kiki Jerome has a major story line coming up is the character’s recasting. In early 2015 “General Hospital” coming and going news revealed that Kristen Alderson was leaving the ABC soap. There are so many characters running around Port Charles, the writers could have easily written Kiki out of the storylines all together – since at that time she wasn’t a major player, but instead they quickly cast Hailey Erin as Alderson’s replacement.
Soap operas, even “General Hospital,” are tragically predictable if you know what you are looking for. The GH writers are setting the stage perfectly to drop the bomb that Kiki Jerome is actually Nina’s biological daughter. Kiki has a special bond with Franco (Roger Howarth) – and he already acts as more of a father figure to her than Silas. So, when Kiki learns that psychopath Nina is her mother, the writers can use Franco as a bridge between the two characters, and he can convince Kiki to give Nina a chance, even though she kidnapped baby Avery. Also, Silas and Ava are finding their ways back to each other, which will maximize the fall out when the truth comes out. Can you imagine the dramatic teary-eyed scene that Silas and Ava will share when he learns that she has been lying to him all along and deprived Nina of her only child?
