Kate Middleton and Prince William have been enlisted for a trip to the city of Dundee in Scotland – many wonder if this is another example of Queen Elizabeth’s PR machine pushing to keep the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s marriage together as reports surface that the couple is experiencing marriage trouble.
Is the royal PR machine – and Queen Elizabeth – keeping the Cambridge’s in line with this trip – forcing the couple to fix the fractures in their 4-year marriage? Kensington Palace confirmed the Kate Middleton and the Duke of Cambridge’s trip to Dundee will include a visit with young people who are challenged with mental health issues, an anti-bullying seminar and a family fun day at the Dundee Repertory Theatre.
A family fun day for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – who are known in Scotland as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn? Doesn’t this just scream of “you two better start getting along or else…” or what? The announcement of Duchess Kate and Prince William’s visit to Dundee did not include any indication that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would accompany their parents on this trip.
There’s a lot of pressure on the Duchess of Cambridge on this trip. She’s had a full schedule of royal appearances since she returned from her 5-month maternity leave following Princess Charlotte’s birth. On Saturday, October 17 she stepped out with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry for the premiere of the new James Bond movie “Spectre.”
On Tuesday, October 20 Duchess Kate will put on her best tiara and ball gown and greet President Xi Jingping of China at a State dinner held at Buckingham Palace. And then Friday, October 23 Kate Middleton will travel with the Duke of Cambridge to Dundee for a day jam packed with activities.
The official visit to Dundee, Scotland will also include a visit to Abertay University to meet students involved in the BAFTA Young Designers program and a walkabout in order for the public to get a chance to meet the Earl and Countess of Strathearn. Sounds like an awful lot to put on the Cambridge’s plate – especially since many believe the Duchess Kate’s mental health has been very fragile as of late.
Is this trip to Dundee a chance for Wills and Kate to reconnect outside the glare of the ever watchful eye of the British media? Or just another chance for the royal public relations department to trot out the couple for the benefit of the Royal Family?
