The clutter starts to pile up in the house, so Kate decides to hold a yard sale. The family goes through all of their junk to find things to sell, stumbling across many of their memories.
Then, they make cake, wrap presents and write notes for Shoka’s birthday. The kids try the cake, but Kate doesn’t want any.
Kate and the kids go to Sky Zone, the world’s first indoor trampoline park, for Mandy and Cara’s birthday party.
Kate say she wouldn’t normally do a party like this, but that at this age it’s more about doing what they do how they want to do it. She says it’s harder to find something everyone wants to do when the kids are in two different age groups. Her favorite birthday party for the two is when they went to American Girl for their sixth birthday.
The family goes for a photoshoot, and Kate struggles to make the kids smile for photos. She does the boys first, then the girls, then all of the kids and then the entire family.
Leah hates her dress, sayig she never said she would wear it, despite the fact that Kate had the kids pick their clothing the night before. “I wasted my whole week on this,” she says. Kate is displeased with the group shots, making everyone do them again.
Kate has her friend Jackie help her advertise the yard sale on the radio. She says she is donating proceeds to the Animal Rescue League, which rescued Shoka.
Kate has the kids help her clean out things from the garage, such as a bunch of boosters that none of the kids need anymore. The kids load up all of their toys and things that they don’t want anymore.
Kate has bins of Halloween stuff from their haunted house years ago, all of which she puts in the yard sale pile. She decides to keep a light-up witch that she can’t part with because it thrills her so much.
On the day of the yard sale, Kate leaves early to get ready, letting the kids sleep a little bit longer. When they all arrive, hundreds of people are waiting in line for the sale to begin. They set up two tables with snacks and drinks. To give some of the kids something else to do to prevent fighting over who would run what, Kate sets up a table with mystery bags for sale.
A lady tries to buy Kate’s precious witch, and Mady pressures her to, but she still says no.
Kate says she doesn’t put prices on her yard sale items, because she finds that by the time you’re putting a hard price on your items, you’re too attached to them. She lets customers estimate what they think the items are worth.
Mady throws a fit because someone has her baby doll, yelling at her mother to retrieve it from one of the customers.
THE END!
