Tonight’s episode of Sleepy Hollow kicks off with the always evil Pandora in her lair, pruning her black tree. She calls for “innocent souls” and asks them for a gift that will help her see what wells in dark hearts. Then Pandora sits down and a dagger floats out of a box and in to her hands.

Back to civilization – Abbie and Crane are at the town building, he is filing a petition to save the archive building. The grumpy lady at the counter stamps his petition and calls out for the next person in line. Crane is not happy, the woman informs him that he needs to be a US citizen before they will accept the application. Abbie thinks that it is ridiculous that he didn’t just put her name on the paper. Abbie rushes off to work and drops her cell phone, Crane picks it up for her and sees a photo on her phone that she took of her father. Abbie confesses that she didn’t tell Jenny she found their father. Before she leaves Crane announces that he is going to become a US citizen.

When Crane is leaving the building he runs in to Mrs. Corinth – she is there trying to save an old church in Dobbs Ferry. She overheard Crane talking about becoming a US citizen, she thinks that it is wonderful – but warns him that it won’t be easy. Mrs. Corintho flirts with a little longer, and then goes on her way.

In an office building a nerdy guy named Nelson is stalking his beautiful co-worker Emily in to the elevator. He invites her to go to the food truck for lunch and she shuts him down. Later that night, Nelson heads out to a bar and watches Emily from afar while she dances with another guy. A creepy lady dressed in black is sitting at the bar with Nelson. She tells him that if he wants Emily he is going to have to make her jealous and show everyone the real him. They hit the dance floor together and the next morning Nelson wakes up dazed and confused in bed – he rolls over and Pandora’s creepy dagger is lying on his nightstand. He heads to work with the dagger and he overhears a guy in the elevator bragging about hooking up with Emily.

Abbie gets a call – there was a stabbing downtown. She and Crane arrive at the office building and find the guy that hooked up with Emily stabbed to death in the elevator – something happened to his face, it looks dark and cracked. Crane has a flashback, he recognizes the killer’s MO from long ago. Crane announces that their killer is “pure evil,” it’s Jack the Ripper. Crane has a flashback to his childhood in London, he was pulled out of boarding school at Eton because the Ripper was running loose. He lived in constant fear because they never caught the Ripper. They find a file in the archives about Jack the Ripper – he has actually been killing since William The Conquerer. Abbie is baffled, because something drained their victim’s body of half of its blood. They decide to start by identifying the murder weapon.

Meanwhile, Jenny and Joe Corbin are searching for Randall – they are trying to get the chard back. They barge in to Randall’s motel room and they find him tied up and handcuffed to a shower. Randall got played, a girl said she was hitch-hiking and stole the chard from him after she tricked him in to letting her time him up.

Meanwhile, Nelson is having a meltdown – and the creepy imaginary girl from the bar is following him around trying to get him to kill again with the daggar. She wants him to stand by her side and “join an ancient and feared history.” She rambles on about him creating a destiny that will make the strong fear him. Abbie and Crane were able to narrow down their search for suspects when Nelson didn’t come to work after the killing.

Abbie and Crane barge in to Nelson’s apartment – now he is dressed in a black cloak and has totally transformed in to Jack the Ripper. His hand has become a huge daggar, Abbie makes a joke about him not being able to drop the weapon. He lunges towards them and Abbie shoots him in the chest and he falls out the second floor window and on top of a car. They think he is dead – for obvious reasons, no human could live through that – but Nelson hops up off the car and laughs at them and walks away.
Jenny catches up to the woman that stole the shard at a diner – she scoffs to Jenny that she already sold the shard. Jenny isn’t buying it, she found the shard hidden in her car battery. Jenny demands to know who she is working for. She warns the girl that there are 100 other ways to make a buck and she might want to consider a new line of work. Jenny tells the girl that she is keeping the shard, and she can let her boss know where to find her.

Abbie and Crane head back to the office to do some more research. Abbie realizes that over the past 900 years, the killings seem to magically stop for a while and the killer is never caught. They need to figure out what caused Jack The Ripper to stop in the past. They look up burial records from when Crane was at Eton College. They realize that there was a Yellow Fever outbreak. Abbie checks, and every Jack The Ripper era ended with a disease outbreak. Apparently, when Jack stabs someone with a deadly disease, it puts the dagger out of business.

Abbie searched Nelson’s computer and finds pictures of Emily on it – she realizes that the girl from his office is going to be his next victim. They rush to a parking ramp where a detective calls in a sighting of Emily – when they arrive the cop is dead. They find Nelson with Emily, he holds the knife up to Emily’s throat and threatens to kills her if Abbie and Crane don’t back off. They manage to safely get Emily away – but Crane and Abbie are having a tough time fighting off Nelson. They both have syringes with diseased blood in them and they are trying to inject them in to Nelson’s neck which is much easier said than done. Crane finally gets the needle in to Nelson and he drops to the ground and the dagger dies. But, Crane also accidentally injected himself with malaria. Abbie rushes to Crane’s side and holds him and begs him to stay with her while the ambulance arrives. Pandora shows up – she taunts Abbie and asks her what it feels like to know that Crane’s life is sleeping through her fingers.

After Crane is taken to the hospital, Abbie heads back to the office and has a drink with Danny. He congratulates her on catching the killer, then he clears the air and tries to make things less awkward between them – he doesn’t want their hook-up at the academy to get in the way of work. Abbie heads home to check in on Crane, he is lying on the couch doped up. He wakes up and looks like he is going to pull through, Abbie tells him that Pandora paid them a visit.

THE END!
