Being on her own is proving to have it perks and initially Bay couldn’t wait to enjoy them all on tonight’s all new episode of “Switched at Birth”.

However, while Bay is perfectly ready to move on, other people won’t allow her to forget. And sadly that includes the full incident with Tank. Which for some reason is now being blamed on Melody.

See, some of the parents of the kids in the deaf program have been talking and apparently they’ve been expressing some concern about whether or not their children are actually safe at the dorms. So after they finished blogging about it and essentially complaining to each other – they then looked to the administration to take action. And eventually a mandatory seminar on sexual assault was set up for the student body.

And so naturally Bay who has been taking Spanish classes at the university came to hear of this. Though she probably wished the teacher hadn’t announced it in class because that got a couple of students talking. And they’re blaming that time “the girl got raped in the deaf dorms” for them having to get up at eight in the morning.

So Bay had to dodge a few looks when her name was announced immediately after that and she was later put in a very uncomfortable position when one girl congratulated for standing up to her attacker.

Remember Bay’s case was very gray and Bay doesn’t even have any definite feelings about it. Thus talking about is hard for her especially when she wants to make excuses for Tank. And other people won’t understand why.

But the parents getting riled up is working against Melody as well. Melody is after all the one in charge of the deaf program and so it looks like she personally couldn’t keep anyone safe. So parents are pulling their kids out of the program and Melody was scared of full-blown panic wiping out everything that she had worked for.

And so Kathryn decided to step in.

Kathryn is a parent with a child in the program so she feels like she can help calm down the masses by talking to a few. Though this idea of hers is probably right up there with producing her play herself. You know the one that’s going to cost thousands of dollars despite not technically having it right now.

But the last part isn’t really her fault. John hasn’t told or talked to anyone outside of his lawyer about his difficulties with the IRS. And yet John refused to see, until it was too late, that his silence was slowly costing him.

Kathryn didn’t convince that one mother to reconsider her decision about pulling out her child. In fact she snapped at her when the other mother rushed to judgement about what happened to Bay. So when Kathryn heard that this woman was once a big donor of the program – she decided that she and John could fill in the gap.

To the tune of fifty grand!

And to add on another bill, Daphne lost her scholarship due to a poor grade. Hence she needed her parents to pay for her tuition for a while. At least until she was able to improve her grades.

Yet focusing on anything other than Toby turned out to be too much. Toby and Lily are pregnant and it seems they’ve come to decision upon finding out their baby has down syndrome. So even if it’s what’s best for them – Daphne is sort of taking it personal that they’re talking about terminating a special needs child.

And so she took out her frustrations on someone convenient. Though, luckily, Mingo didn’t hold it against her. He instead just decided to learn sign language in order for her to know that he wanted to be with her.

As for Bay, she found someone who knew exactly what she had been through and it turns out this person had been around for some time.

Travis, you see, had never told anyone that a family friend had molested him. So by talking to Bay he finally opened up and the two were able to discuss what’s been bothering them. And it could be wishful thinking but it looks like these are going to be growing closer.

THE END!
