Tonight on CBS the Emmy award winning show The Amazing Race hosted by Phil Keoghan returns in an all new Friday December 4, season 27 episode 11 called “It’s Not Easy Beating Green,” and we have your recap below. On tonight’s episode, the final four teams race in Hong Kong and Macau, China, where they take part in a water show and compete for a chance to race in the final leg.
On the last episode racers faced a third U-turn for the first time in the show’s history, and teams try to power through an exhausting, late night detour on their way to an Indian wedding. #AmazingRace begins in Agra, India with Justin and Diana leaving first in the morning headed for Hong Kong. Chris and Logan are targeting them and Justin is being cocky. They will ride in a Rolls Royce to a hotel there for their first clue.
They are hoping to win this leg to tie the winning leg record. Kelsey and Joey leave a few minutes later confident they will move into first place. The cheerleaders leave in 3rd place. The teams are all on the flight to Hong Kong now.
In Hong Kong, the flight lands and the teams are off and running. The cheerleaders leave in first place followed by another two teams. Justin and Diana plus Chris and Logan are lost. Justin and Diana grab a car and the paps leave last.
They head for the Peninsula Hotel and get a #Detour of Sam or Cells. Sam is a world-famous tailor who can make a suit in 24 hours. They have to cut out pieces for a suit then delivered a suit to get their next clue. Cells is to go to a market and find a used cell phone.
The cheerleaders and Kelsey and Joe go for the tailor. Justin and Diana choose cells. The cheerleaders come to the suit shop. Kelsey and Joey make it there too. The cheerleaders are confused by the pieces. Joey wonders why the girls are so flummoxed.
At the market, Justin and Diana show up and look around. They find the street and start looking. They see hundreds of phones and start checking for a working one. Logan and Chris make it to the tailor shop also.
Chris wants to cut two pieces at once and Logan argues with him. Justin and Diana are sifting through the phones. They are worried because they’re alone. One phone comes on. They get an address and head out.
They grab a taxi but they drove away when they were already on the right street. Kelsey and Joe are told the fabric is the wrong side and are sent back to try again. Chris sees them get rejected and chews Logan out for not listening to him.
The cheerleaders did it right and head out to deliver the suit. The cheerleaders come back and get their clue to go to the Hong Kong Island Ferry to Macau. They are in 1st place right now. They head out. Kelsey and Joey head out to deliver theirs.
Chris starts freaking out on Logan. Justin and Diana are in the cab and worry they are doing the wrong thing. Kelsey and Joey deliver their suit and get their next clue. Chris and Logan also get thumbs up and head out to deliver the suit.
The cab driver gets out and leaves them to ask where they should be. They find out they have to go all the way back. Chris and Logan get their clue and head to the ferry terminal. Everyone is worried about where Justin and Diana are.
Justin says they wasted a half hour. Justin is being a jerk and Diana tells him that he needs to not act like a maniac. They get out of the cab and go to the phone company. They get their clue and head to the ferry. They are in last place.
Chris and Logan are in the cab and tell their driver they have to go to a specific terminal. Justin and Diana may be on the wrong ferry. The three other teams are on the ferry and Justin and Diana are not there.
They are at the Kowloon Ferry instead. They buy a ticket and get on the ferry. They are on a different ferry. The other teams arrive and hope in cabs to head to the City of Dreams. Justin and Diana get off and get in a cab.
The other teams are happy not to see Justin and Diana. Kelsey and Joey make it there first and get their clue. It’s the #Roadblock that’s called Swim with the Fishes. They have to do a high dive as part of the show and find an item underwater.
Kelsey decides to do it. Logan is doing it too. The others are talking about how Justin and Diana are not there. They get their makeup done to prepare for the show. Logan says it’s nice not to have Chris yelling at her while she relaxes.
The others cheer as they take the platforms during the show and get ready to jump. Logan jumps then Krista and Kelsey. They now have to swim down and get the item but they’re not finding it. They have to nab a golden fish.
Justin and Diana show up and look around. They take off running. Justin is chewing her out and she gets mad and tells him to shut up. Logan is first to grab a fish. She gets on the raft. The other two can’t find it. Kelsey finally spots it.
She swims for the raft. Krista dives again and can’t find it. If the song ends, she’ll have to start over. The music ends and she’s done. Nam Van Lake is the pit stop where they race boats. This is an elimination round. Diana gets her makeup done.
Justin is worried because Diana is not the best swimmer. Justin is in full freak out mode. Krista is in the next show but Diana is not. It’s a 20 minute wait. Krista is so close to the fish. The music ends and Krista didn’t find it. Now Diana has a shot.
Chris tells Logan to drop her backpack and run when they get there. Kelsey and Joey worry they will be in second again and really want a first place. Justin is worried that Diana will have a panic attack in the water. Justin is crying and all upset.
The act starts and Diana is scared that she has to jump from that height. Diana jumps and then Krista. Krista still can’t see anything. Diana comes up with a fish. Krista still can’t find it. Justin and Diana head out and Krista will have to try again on the next show.
Now it’s a race to the pit stop and the other two teams are running. Chris and Logan are thrilled to come in first and are told they are in the finals. Plus they win a trip to Peru. Kelsey and Joey are told they are second place again.
Phil tells them at least they are in the finals. Justin and Diana are in a cab headed to the pit stop. He apologizes for being a jerk. Krista cries and tells Tiffany she can’t do this anymore and she doesn’t know what she’s doing wrong.
Tiffany tells her not to give up. The show starts again. The music ends again. Krista is clueless and says she can’t jump in again. It’s harder now because there is one left where before there were several. Diana tells Justin it’s not deep it’s just hard to see.
Tiffany tells Krista failing is not her. Krista cries and says she can’t do this and Tiffany says she can push herself and do this. Justin and Diana make it to the pit stop. The other two teams are there and not happy to see them.
Phil tells them they are third but then says they took the wrong ferry. He says they have a 30 minute penalty plus another 25 minutes. They have a 55 minute penalty and says they have to wait before they can check in – they are stunned.
Justin and Diana fret while the clock ticks away. They are both in tears. Logan says she hopes the cheerleaders are working their butts off to get there. It’s Krista’s 5th attempt and she finally comes up with it. The timer is down to 40 minutes.
Tiffany and Krista head out in the cab and the timer is at 35 minutes. The driver drives them somewhere else and they get out of the cab. They can’t find a taxi. The time is at 15 minutes. The cheerleaders get a new cab and head out.
They are down to 12 minutes of penalty. Tiffany and Krista get out of their cab. Phil calls Justin and Diana to the mat and tell them they are in the finals as team number three. The other two teams are so upset.
The cheerleaders finally make it there and Phil says they just lost out by minutes. The cheerleaders are out of the race. They are happy that they stayed this long. #Final3 is Chris and Logan, Kelsey and Joey, and Justin and Diana.
