The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) Spoilers: Accusations, Investigations and Thwarted Romance - The Hammer Falls

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers and review recap the highlights of the week that was and what this tells us to anticipate looking forward during the week of August 14-28 and further ahead on B&B as we wait for the video hammer to fall. Last week was full of accusations, investigations and relationship advice on The Bold and The Beautiful. It seems that the police are finally starting to follow up in the investigation of Aly Forrester’s (Ashlynn Pearce) death. This week the police showed up at FC wanting to ask questions of Steffy (Jacqueline Maccinnes Wood). Steffy stuck to her story that Aly attacked her and her death was self defense.

The video that Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) shot continues to make waves for two couples. Steffy was very upset and scared after the police visit and asked Wyatt (Darin Brooks) to use the budding relationship between himself and Ivy in order to help her out and delete the video. Wyatt decided to try and help her against his better judgement and got caught by Ivy who told him that the video stayed on her phone because it was the only way that Aly was ever going to get justice. This led to a deepening in the relationship between Wyatt and Ivy as the two slept together after which she told him that if they were going to have a relationship she had to know that she could trust him with all of her and that included her heart, her secrets and her phone. Wyatt assured Ivy that she could and that he was on her side. Steffy questioned Wyatt about him getting rid of the video and he told her that he couldn’t do it.

The mishap led to a confrontation between Liam (Scott Clifton) and Ivy during which Ivy told her ex that if he wanted to know the truth about what happened to Aly he needed to go talk to his girlfriend. Steffy finally confessed the truth about the video to Liam which sent to Wyatt’s demanding to see the video. After viewing it he was pretty upset. He told Steffy that it looked like she had committed murder. However Liam told her that he knew she wasn’t capable of cold blooded murder and that he would do whatever it took to stop Ivy and Wyatt from showing that video to anyone and keep Steffy safe.

This storyline is a fail because it really has just created a love square. Instead of letting Ivy move on cleanly from Liam the writers are painting her to be some bitter ex who is holding this footage over his new girlfriend’s head to punish them both for being together. The new pairing of Ivy and Wyatt is great and they have the chance to be a real couple if the writers stop making out to be just a pair of bitter exes who got together because they were dumped by the happy couple. The video should either disappear or be turned over to the police and let them deal with it.

Caroline (Lynsey Godfrey) and Thomas (Pearson Fode) had some interesting and intense interactions this week as well. Thomas has been struggling with the knowledge of the video incriminating his sister in Aly’s death and finally decided to share what was going on with Caroline. He tells her about the video after she grills him about why he decided to back Ivy as the new face of Forrester.

Thomas also asks Caroline about her relationship with his father Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). He wants to know how their relationship is going and Caroline tells him that they are fine. He tells her about Ridge’s history of being all in and then deciding that he doesn’t want to be there anymore and Caroline assures Thomas that this is different and that they will not end up that way but it seems that Thomas can sense some discord as he asks her if she is getting everything that she wants from this relationship.

This storyline is a bit of a repeat of the past between Ridge, Eric (John McCook) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) from back in the old days. Thomas seems poised to try and steal Caroline away from Ridge. These two are much more appropriate for each other. Caroline may be more prone to go with a younger man as well because she wants a baby and Ridge has made it abundantly clear that he does not want another family. Instead he simply wants to enjoy life with Caroline. Please leave your thoughts and comments in the CDL comments below
