“The Young And The Restless” spoilers tease that Lachlan Buchanan is on his way out at the CBS soap opera, and it looks like Kyle Abbott will be exiting and leaving the canvas once again. A report hit the Internet this indicating that Lachlan Buchanan had been fired from Y&R, and then reps from the show corrected the report and confirmed that Buchanan had not been fired – but he had been bumped down to recurring status.
So, what exactly does recurring status mean on “The Young And The Restless?” Well, basically they will not be recasting the character or “replacing” Buchanan like some of the rumors have teased. But, it does mean that Kyle Abbott will not typically be in any major storylines, and the writers will most likely come up with some sort of excuse to explain his absence – like saying that he is out of town or leaving Genoa City for business.
Y&R rumors have hinted for a while now that Lachlan Buchanan was on his way out at the CBS soap opera, not only was he not resonating well with fans of the daytime drama, but now that the “Cabin Killer” storyline was pretty much wrapped up – there really wasn’t too much for him to do in Genoa City.
Lachlan Buchanan is actually the fifth actor to try and take on the role of Kyle Abbott, it might be time for the writers to give up on the character all together. Kyle Abbott just is not meant to be.
