The Young and the Restless (Y&R) Spoilers: Sharon Case NOT Fired - Is Sharon Newman Secure in Future Storylines?

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers  report that Sharon Case is NOT fired nor is the great actress about to leave Y&R despite ugly rumors to the contrary. The Young and the Restless star Sharon Case has portrayed Sharon Newman for 21 years. She is a very important character on the show, and fans agree that without her Y&R wouldn’t be the same. With Charles Pratt Jr. and Jill Farren Phelps leading the show, fans worried that Sharon Case’s contract could be at risk. Fans can rest assured: Sharon Case tweeted that it is just a rumor, and she is not going anywhere.

It was rumored last year that Sharon Case was being dropped to recurring status. It all started around the time when Sharon and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) wedding was called off. Fans worried that she wouldn’t have a storyline without Nick. She noted via her Twitter account that she has a front and center storyline coming in the next few months. And, she just signed a contract not too long ago.

Sharon sounded almost frustrated with a fan when they asked if she was leaving the show. She said that no matter how many times she denied she is leaving the show – the rumor won’t die. There were also rumors that since Sharon would not throw Michael Muhney under the bus, like many of his fellow actors on Y&R (Hunter King for example) and remained friends with MM and his family after the firing scandal, that she was being punished.

Right now, Sharon just had a miscarriage on the show. She is convinced that she can get pregnant right away and Dylan will never know she lost their baby. Fans are confused by the storyline because Sharon should be around three months pregnant. So, how would she explain to Dylan the missing time, that she is three months overdue? Will she steal Sage’s baby and try to pass the infant off as her own child?

Chuck Pratt has stated he enjoys working with Sharon, and he has written compelling storylines for her. Pratt seems to be hell-bent on the idea of destroying her character, as he does with many Y&R females. Fans are pretty upset about Sharon’s miscarriage. They voiced their disappointment on social media and felt that Sage (Kelly Sullivan) should have lost her baby instead – fans love Sharon and hate  poor Sage. It will be very interesting to see how Sharon’s (fake) pregnancy storyline plays out in the coming months.

On Sept. 7, Sharon celebrates 21 years on “Young and the Restless.” Soap Opera Spy would like to thank her work for the past 21 years – with many more to come.
