“The Young and the Restless” spoilers have been teasing for weeks that Nikki Newman’s drinking was only going to get worse before it got any better. But, at this rate – how much worse could it get? Nikki (Melody Scott Thomas) fell off the wagon in 2014 and began drinking again when Ian Ward came to town – and since he left she has continued to turn to the bottle to cope with all of the stresses in her life, which recently have been her husband Victor Newman’s shady business dealings.
“The Young and the Restless” spoilers revealed that in the month of January Nikki Newman’s drinking problem would soar to new heights and get out of control, and that is exactly what happened. Y&R fans were shocked when Nikki passed out drunk at her own granddaughter Katie’s Christening, and then when she was awakened to take family photos she nearly dropped the infant! The only reason Nikki has managed to keep her drinking a secret for this long, is because she keeps blaming her erratic behavior on her medical condition, MS.
There is one person in Genoa City who has figured out that Nikki Newman is boozing again, but even Paul isn’t aware of the extent of her problem. “The Young and the Restless” spoilers tease that February Sweeps will be action-packed and full of drama, and Y&R rumors are flying around the internet that Nikki Newman’s drinking storyline will finally come to a boiling point. One unfounded spoiler, that just won’t seem to die, is that during the month of February Nikki will get behind the wheel after she has been drinking and mow down one of her friends or family members. A lot of Y&R fans think the unlucky pedestrian could be her own husband, Victor Newman. Another popular rumor is that Nikki Newman will accidentally start a fire in a drunken stupor and burn down half of Genoa City.
