“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, September 9, tease that Gabriel (Justin Hartley) will show up at Jabot and ask for his old job back. Billy (Burgess Jenkins) will be against it, but Jack (Peter Bergman) will think it’s a good idea. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) will insist that she gets the final say and it’s definitely a no.
Later, Jack will declare that he has the authority to bring Gabriel on as a private contractor. Ashley won’t be pleased, but Jack will believe this will work out well. Gabe can keep an eye on both companies and try to find out who’s behind the Paragon Project. Ashley will reply that she’s going to get the bottom of that operation herself. After Jack leaves, he’ll listen outside the door as Ashley calls Joe (Scott Elrod) to ask him out to dinner.
Meanwhile, Cane (Daniel Goddard) will call Lily (Christel Khalil) and give her updates on what they’ve heard from the witness. Since Devon (Bryton James) looks guilty, Cane will want Lily to ask him some questions. Maybe Lily can find out if there’s more to the story. Lily will try to get Devon to open up, but he’ll be hurt that everyone is doubting him. If Cane, Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lily don’t believe Devon, he’ll have a tough time convincing a jury.
Neil (Kristoff St. John) will discover Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) empty IV bag and he’ll frantically try to change it. Neil will decide he has to get some supplies and he’ll head to the hospital. Gwen (Nadine Nicole) and her sister, Emma (Alice Greczyn), will catch Neil coming out of a supply closet. Emma, who works at the hospital, will wonder why Neil was in a restricted area. Neil will try to cover by saying he was looking for the pharmacy to get his sleeping pill prescription. Neil will state that he ducked in the closet to avoid some reporters who were passing by.
Other “Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Gwen and Emma will run into Lily at The Dive Bar. Lily will learn about the sleeping pills and become concerned. Neil was an alcoholic and Lily will fear that these pills could be the start of trouble. On the island, the prosecutor will confront Michael and Cane about holding out on him. Michael will contend that the witness just wanted the reward money. The prosecutor will believe Michael didn’t come clean about what the witness said because it makes Devon appear guilty.
Lily will call Cane to express concern over Neil’s pills. Cane will urge her to talk to Neil about it and he’ll give her the news of his current predicament. It seems Cane and Michael have been thrown in jail. Elsewhere, Devon will tell Neil that he has nothing to live for if Hilary is dead. Neil will insist that everything is going to be OK. Devon will vow to make sure the person responsible for Hilary’s disappearance pays the price. It sounds like Neil may have bitten off more than he can chew. Y&R rumors hint that Neil’s dilemma is far from over. Stick with the CBS soap for updates on Neil’s attempt to get out of this mess.
