Leila pays Jamal a visit in his office – she is worried about him because he hasn’t come to bed. Jamal is freaking out, he is trying to figure out who the poison is in the palace that the sheik warned him about. He thinks his son Rami may be responsible, he is suspicious of him because he doesn’t discuss anything with him.

Meanwhile, Ahmed is trying to cheer up his wife after the miscarriage. He wants to take her away on a vacation. She tells Ahmed that their marriage is over, they have to get an annulment. She can’t have kids now, and he needs to marry someone who can give him an heir. Ahmed doesn’t want to hear it, he says he loves her, he is staying with her, and he is going to fight for her.

Rami is briefing Jamal and the army, they are making a move on Ma’an during an upcoming sandstorm. Rami is certain they can pull it off, but they need Khalil and the Red Hand Brigade’s help. Rami asks Jamal for Khalil’s number, Jamal scoffs that when he leads the planning to others – things go badly. He tells Rami that he will speak to Khalil himself.

Molly meets up with James, she tells him that Sammy is safe in Ma’an, and it is time for him to go home. James isn’t buying it, he doesn’t understand why Molly is trying to get rid of him. The only explanation she has for James is that he “isn’t family.” James doesn’t want to leave, Molly tells him that he needs to stop liking her.
Rami is going behind Jamal’s back – he orders his seargent to give him Khalil’s phone number so that he can deal with him directly. He refuses to give up the info and says that it would be treason, Jamal specifically said that he would call Khalil himself.

Sammy is with Barry in, however they are pretending not to know each other. They slip away, and Barry tells Sammy that he spoke to Molly and reassured her that Sammy is safe. Sammy doesn’t want to hear about it, he reminds his dad that she was a mess when she thought he was dead – he scoffs that it is his father’s job to clean up the mess that he made. The call to prayer interrupts their reunion, Barry invites Sammy to join him in prayer, he offers to teach him how to pray. Sammy snarks that he doesn’t understand why his parents have suddenly become “holy rollers.”

After prayer, Barry’s phone goes off. It’s Jamal, he tells Barry that Rami is his son – and he is “not so sure about him.” Jamal begins rambling about how wise God is, and that he is being punished because he didn’t forgive his brother. He tells Barry what the sheik said about there being a poison in the palace. Jamal tells Barry that they need his people to raid the army base during the sandstorm, Barry says that is crazy – they have no weapons. Jamal says that the war can’t be won, he thinks he is just going to give Ma’an to the Caliphate and sit this war out. Barry rants that Jamal is crazy, he can’t just give up Ma’an, his people are there.

Rami pays Leila a visit – he says that he needs to talk to her. He is worried about Jamal, he asks if his father has been sleeping at all. He tells Leila that he needs Barry’s phone number. Leila says that she doesn’t have it – Rami is sure that he can get it. Later, Leila goes through Jamal’s phone while he is sleeping so she can find Barry’s phone number. Jamal wakes up and calls for her, he says that he had a nightmare and he was drowning in the ocean. In his dream Leila was standing on the beach and just watching him drown. Leila tells him that he is being ridiculous and he has been drinking too much, she reassures him that she would never let him drown.

Molly is sitting outside on her cell phone, she is on the phone with Barry ranting about how horrible a person he is. She scoffs that she actually wishes that he was just still dead. Sammy is busy learning how to shoot guns, a woman asks him why he is really there, she doesn’t understand why he didn’t just donate money to their cause like everyone else.

The next day Barry receives a phone call from Rami, apparently Leila gave him his phone number out of Jamal’s phone. Rami tells him that he wants to meet up with him, at an address 5 miles away from Ma’an – they need to talk. Barry leaves to meet with Rami, while he is gone their camp is under attack – a bomb goes off and Sammy is knocked to the ground. The girl that as flirting with him rescues him. While they are attacking the camp Kasim has a meltdown. He doesn’t have the heart to shoot one of the women. He says, “I beg for God’s forgiveness” and then he commits suicide and shoots himself in the head.

Sammy and the girl that saved him are hiding under a truck. The shooting and shouting stops, and Sammy is freaking out, he doesn’t know if they should get up and if the attack is over. The girl leans in and kisses him, and then she gets out from under the truck to see if it is safe. Shots are fired and she drops dead right in front of Sammy.

Rami arrives at the palace after his meeting with Barry, Jamal demands to know where he was – he accuses him of being a traitor and meeting with the Caliphate. Rami snaps bac that he is not a traitor, he was meeting with Khalil to help save the country, he calls Jamal a “drunken old fool.” He pleads with Jamal to let him do his job. Jamal caves, he tells Rami that the day after tomorrow he an “rain hell on the caliphate.” After Rami leaves, Jamal orders one of his men to kill his son.

Barry returns to the camp and is freaking out because he cant find Sammy. He receives a phone call from Molly, Sammy is safe – he is hiding out with some of the other fighters. Sammy told Molly that he is staying to fight along side his father and see the war through. She sobs that they are all still alive, and she is glad that Barry is alive.
