“Days of Our Lives” (DOOL) spoilers reveal that quite a few characters are set to depart soon, but it looks like one fan favorite will be staying in Salem. On Snapchat, Camila Banus broke the news that many DOOL viewers had been hoping to hear. Banus just signed a contract to remain at “Days” for another year.
Now that we know Gabi is sticking around, that makes us wonder if “Days of Our Lives” will deepen her romance with JJ (Casey Moss). Their relationship has been progressing slowly, but they might pick up the pace in light of this contract renewal.
It would be nice to see Gabi and JJ get a major storyline to solidify them as a couple.
Of course, soap pairings aren’t always known for their staying power. Something could just as easily tear Gabi and JJ apart sometime in the near future. DOOL spoilers indicate that Abigail will be off canvas for several months after Kate Mansi’s last airdate.
Could that leave the door open for a romance between Gabi and Chad (Billy Flynn)? It’s tough to say. They have a rocky history, but that doesn’t mean much on a soap.
A lot will depend on the nature of Abigail’s exit and how Chad copes once she’s out of the picture. Whatever the case, it’s great to find out Gabi signed on the dotted line. “Days of Our Lives” needs to keep the twentysomething age bracket going if possible.
That’s certainly easier to do with established characters. It’s often more difficult to for the audience to connect with newbies.
Gabi’s contract could also mean we’ll be seeing extra airtime for the Hernandez clan. The show might choose to truly explore this family’s struggle to bond. However, there’s been some buzz about the possibility that Dario’s (Jordi Vilasuso) departure could be coming down the road.
Eduardo (A Martinez) and Adriana’s (Alma Delfina) storyline feels like something that could potentially fizzle as well. It seems we’ll just have to see how things play out for this Gabi’s relatives. With more cast cuts on the way, no one is really safe.
