“Days of Our Lives” (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) will soon bring his signature madness back to Salem over episodes this week and next. As Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Kate Mansi) prepare to tie the knot, Ben will escape from the psychiatric hospital.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Robert Scott Wilson opened up about Ben’s frame of mind as he returns to DOOL.
Days of Our Lives spoilers tell us that it seems Ben has become curious during his stint at the sanitarium. Wilson noted, “Ben comes back because he wants to know what’s going on. Granted, Ben hasn’t forgotten what happened, but he wants to be back in the realm of a place he considered home.” Yikes! We’re creeped out already.
In addition, Wilson pointed out for Days fans that Ben might disengage from his string of atrocious actions. “Ben may also be able to bypass thoughts of the terrible things he has done,” said Wilson. It appears Ben recalls the fact that he’s a murderer, kidnapper and arsonist. However, Ben will try to bottle up those memories and focus on a time when he was just another semi-shady Salemite.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Ben can blend in with the crowd. Once JJ (Casey Moss) gets updates on Ben’s escape, he’ll immediately deliver the news to Chad. They’ll set out to find Ben pronto. “Days of Our Lives” buzz hints that Ben could throw a couple of curveballs their way during the search.
Ben will likely want to meet up with Abigail eventually. There’s surely a comment or two Ben would like to get off his chest. That chat might have disastrous results. Although Ben will be trying to keep his emotions in check, he’s still an escaped killer. Abigail will be terrified when they inevitably come face to face. “Days” fans will be on the edge of their seats as they wait to see what Ben has in store.
Wilson suggested that this version of Ben could bring several surprises. He may not be exactly the same Ben we saw last fall, but he won’t be any less entertaining. “For me, by the end of my first run, I feel that Ben had completed an arc,” Wilson stated. “So this is now a fresh new arc for myself and what I make for Ben.”
Whatever happens, Wilson is eager to tell the next chapter of Ben’s story. “I am excited that he’s coming back,” said Wilson. It’s safe to say that most DOOL viewers are excited as well! Stick with “Days of Our Lives” to see if Ben shows us a few new shades of crazy.
