General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) may be the only hope to save Maxie Jones (Molly Burnett) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) from Claudette Bolland’s (Bree Williamson) Port Charles scheme which contains elements of blackmail.
Claudette seems to have two agendas when she hit town – one is revenge – and based on the way she hugged that photo of Nathan, she may also want him back. The problem is, Nathan and Maxie can’t do anything about Claudette.
They can’t make her leave – even if Maxie reneges on the Crimson job offer. Claudette can ruin Nathan’s life in a snap if she feels like it. You’ll recall that Nathan just came clean to Maxie about shooting the guy that Nathan caught Claudette cheating with – but who never turned him in.
Nathan couldn’t make things right even if he wanted to since he has no idea who he shot. But Claudette knows who it is and she could turn Nathan in to the cops if she felt like it. Claudette already made it clear to Nathan that he’d better not push her about leaving Port Charles.
This is exactly why Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) told Nathan not to tell Maxie – or anyone else – what he’s done. Unfortunately, since Claudette was there, it’s not like Nathan can hide the truth from her. Maxie and Nathan see this threat clearly.
Nathan doesn’t even know who he shot, but Claudette knows exactly who it is and it would be catastrophic for Nathan if it came out that he shot a priest. The bottom line is, Claudette has Nathan – and therefore Maxie – over a barrel.
It seems like Maxie and Nathan have no options. But there is one person that can save Nathan – Dr Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen). Since Griffin is the one that was shot, he can refuse to press charges, or explain it away.
Griffin is the only one who could bail Nathan out of the tight spot that Claudette has him in – but only if he wants to. Will Griffin stand up to Claudette and defend Nathan? Will Griffin protect Nathan from his scheming ex-wife and thereby shield Nathan and Maxie’s relationship?
Griffin is very forgiving (ex-priest after all) and so he might. After all, if Griffin is prepared to forgive Carlos Rivera (Jeffrey Parise) for shooting and killing his dad Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan), forgiving the guy who shot him because he was sexing up his wife seems like no biggie.
There’s also the guilt factor. Griffin feels awful about being in Claudette’s bed in the first place since he was her priest and confessor and then let her pull off his collar and he bedded her. Granted Claudette told Griffin lots of lies about Nathan, but still, that was not cool.
In coming days, Maxie will turn to Griffin, whom she now sees in the role as her confessor, and opens up to him about Nathan’s ex-wife being in town. Maxie probably won’t go so far as to mention the shooting but Griffin will still be stunned.
Claudette wrecked both Griffin and Nathan’s lives. General Hospital spoilers reveal that Griffin has a talk with Maxie that makes him extremely uncomfortable. How much will Griffin reveal to Maxie – if anything?
Griffin has been trying to work up the nerve to tell Nathan he’s the guy he shot but has failed or been interrupted. But Maxie telling Griffin about Claudette will escalate everything. Will Griffin go directly to Claudette and confront her?
Or will Griffin go to Nathan and reveal the shooting truth and work with Nathan to deal with Claudette? No matter what he does, it’s very likely that Griffin is the one person that can stop Claudette’s schemes dead in her tracks.
But once Griffin comes face to face with Claudette, will his resolve slip? Will Claudette be able to manipulate him like she did when she got him to pull off his priestly collar and hop into her bed? What do you think GH fans?
