Recent General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) reaction to the Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) shooting reveal will wreck his relationship with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and lead to some major shakeups and new loves.
Maxie believes that Nathan’s physical attack on Griffin means that he still loves Claudette Bolland (Bree Williamson) and she will rethink whether this is a man she can marry. Maxie understands why Nathan would have been furious when he discovered Claudette in bed with another man.
But now it’s been years later, Claudette and Nathan have been divorced a long time, and Nathan is (supposedly) in love with Maxie. But deep down, does Nathan still have feelings for his ex-wife? Don’t you think Nathan’s reaction to Griffin seemed out of bounds?
Nathan should have been ashamed of shooting Griffin and grateful that the former priest didn’t have him arrested for shooting him. Instead, Nathan treated Griffin like he was the one who was a criminal. Sure Griffin was wrong for sleeping with Claudette, but shooting him was not appropriate.
Nathan can tell Maxie over and over that she’s the one that matters and she’s the one he loves – but now she knows that he’s been lying to himself – and to her. General Hospital spoilers tease that there’s no way Maxie can marry Nathan under these conditions.
For Griffin and Claudette, it seemed like for a split second, he was ready to get back with her. When Griffin pulled Claudette into that steamy liplock, it looked like she might have won him over. But then when they were caught, all of Griffin’s shame and remorse came flooding back.
That’s why he didn’t fight back when Nathan attacked. Griffin won’t give in to Claudette and General Hospital spoilers reveal that Griffin will soon tell her to get out of his life and never come back and that he’ll never be with her no matter what.
Later, Maxie will come back to Griffin to talk. She’s upset that she opened up to him about her marriage when he was keeping a big secret from her about Nathan. Maxie will be reeling from all of this and after Griffin apologizes and explains himself, he will comfort a heartbroken Maxie.
Will Griffin comforting Maxie lead to something more? Both Griffin and Maxie are hurting and vulnerable, so this could be the spark of something new. As for Claudette, now that she’s been rejected by Griffin, she’ll turn her attention back onto Nathan.
Nathan might have to acknowledge the truth in Maxie’s words and in his reaction to the Griffin reveal and question whether he’s really over Claudette or not. That’s the time for Claudette to make a move on Nathan to try and win him back.
All of this mess could leave GH fans with two new couples – Griffin and Maxie – and Nathan and Claudette – but how long can it last? Unless Nathan can get over Claudette once and for all and prove himself to Maxie, they may be done for good.
