General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Attempts Suicide, Shocks Mourners At Morgan Funeral - Jason Saves Mob Boss in Gun Struggle

New General Hospital (GH) spoilers from a promo video reveal that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) suicide plans are even more shocking than GH fans realize. Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) noticed that Sonny has a gun on him at the funeral but didn’t go on high alert.

Since Jax well knows that Sonny is a mobster, maybe he thinks Sonny is now carrying a gun 24/7. Sonny has mentioned several times this week that “after the funeral” he wouldn’t be a problem and he told Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) that he was going away “after the funeral.”

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Shocks Mourners With Morgan Funeral Suicide Bid - Jason Saves Mob Boss in Gun Struggle

For those that assumed Sonny was going to attend Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) funeral and then go off and kill himself, think again. Sonny has lost it completely and will pull a gun at his youngest son’s funeral planning to kill himself and create a terrible mess at the memorial.

The funeral starts on Friday, November 11 and Sonny sits in the pew moved to tears as the priest offers the eulogy. There are a lot of mourners there to see the scene. Sonny stands to speak and puts his hand on his son’s coffin and eulogizes. Sonny will let out all his guilt.

Sonny tells the crowd that he does everything for his family but then confesses by saying “My son is dead because of me.” Sonny says the only way for Morgan to be at peace is this and then he pulls out the pistol that he brought loaded and ready.

The crowd of mourners gasps and everyone recoils. They don’t seem to be sure if Sonny is going to aim the gun at himself or them. But it quickly becomes apparent that Sonny intends to harm himself. Sonny sees killing himself as the only way to make up for Morgan’s death.

Sonny is still convinced that it’s his fault Moran is dead. Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) has another theory about what went down and is working as fast as he can to find the person responsible for the bomb and for the death of his namesake, but it’s not fast enough.

Jason refuses to let Sonny do this. He can’t watch while his best friend takes his life. Jason will rush Sonny and wrestle him for the gun. Let’s hope that the gun doesn’t go off and shoot an innocent mourner while Jason tries to stop Sonny’s suicide attempt.

Sonny is not thinking clearly. Otherwise he would not consider shooting himself in front of his daughter Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) and son Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell). Jason will save Sonny from himself today and then prove his innocence in Morgan’s death soon enough.

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has refused time and again to grieve with Sonny and she’s been warned repeatedly by Nelle, Michael and Jason that Sonny was struggling. Carly couldn’t see past her own grief to care about what Sonny is going through, but this incident might change her mind.

General Hospital spoilers indicate that Sonny will be arrested at the funeral by Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine). She’s been building a case against Sonny but his confession is all she needs to run him in. Just this once, an arrest might be the best thing for Sonny if it keeps him safe.
