Frank had killed the man that Annalise had sent after him although strangely enough he had called her afterwards and had almost been apologetic. Annalise’s hadn’t answered the phone when he called because she had tried to downplay what happened and appeared in control in front of Nate. But she had listened to the message when she had the chance and it had been clear that she hadn’t known what to do. Annalise couldn’t call the cops because she had hired someone to kill Frank if he found him. And it’s not like she could tell her students or even Bonnie because she knew how they would react as well.

So Annalise had ultimately chosen to just ignore Frank’s message it like she did with everything else. She had later pretended in front of the president of the school that a flier of her face with murderer on it hadn’t fazed her in the slightest. However, she had gotten new locks at the house and had also surprised Wes by asking him if he wanted to move in with her in order to save some money. And so Annalise was scared of something which was why she was taking precautions to feel safe at the house yet she hadn’t acted like nothing was wrong in front of the others and had destroyed her phone when no one was around to see what she did.

Yet, Wes had suspected that there was something behind her offer and so he had later asked Annalise about it after her clinic. Annalise’s clinic which was meant to rehab her image had surprisingly taken on Irene’s case. Irene had killed her husband and recent judiciary process meant she could finally bring up the domestic abuse in court. So the students in Annalise’s clinic were ally vying for first chair and Annalise made them compete to see who Irene wouldn’t mind in the courtroom. And so Wes should have been competing like everyone else though there something about Annalise’s offer that kept on bugging him.

Wes thought that Annalise had offered him her house because she was worried about Frank. No one knew where Frank was and so Wes suspected that Annalise was trying to protect him from Frank when she asked him to move in. But Annalise denied that had been the reason and she had instead said that she had been tired of eating alone. So Annalise had told Wes what she knew would make him feel better and that had been enough for him at the time however Annalise went on to tell Nate that she was worried about Frank and so she had asked him to find Frank. And, well, Nate had had his opinions on Frank.

Nate had known that it had been Frank that had set him up for Sam’s murder. Though Annalise had sworn that she had no part in what Frank did because her late husband Sam had met Frank in prison and she hadn’t known how dangerous Frank could be. So right away Annalise tried distancing herself from the atrocious things that Frank did even though she played some part in his schemes. Annalise hadn’t mentioned to Nate that they had gotten rid of a few dead bodies together and she hadn’t bother mentioning what really happened to Catherine Hapstall on the night she was shot. And so all she really told Nate was that Frank was a problem that needed to be found.

However, her clinic and Connor who had ultimately won the likeability contest hadn’t been working out for Annalise. Connor hadn’t known how to reign in the other law students in the clinic and he also hadn’t known how to talk to their client. Irene hadn’t wanted to bring up her abuse in court because she had been let down before and no one had ever listened when she tried to explain her marriage. So Connor had a tough time talking to Irene much less getting her to talk up for herself, but he kept on trying and may have lost his cool in court when the parole board had tried to demean Irene.

The parole board had asked questions like why had she never mentioned the abuse before and why didn’t she just leave when she had the chance. Yet, they overlooked the mentality of an abused woman because they thought her husband’s abuse was a story she made up in order to finally be released. So Connor losing his cool had probably been the first time that anyone had stood up for Irene and even then she didn’t know how to deal with it so Connor ended up telling her a secret. Connor told Irene about the time he had killed someone and how it had changed him afterwards because he had pushed people away after that.

Connor had said that he pushed people away unintentionally because they hadn’t known what he was going through. So him telling Irene his story had upset Annalise who overheard him, but it had given Irene the courage she needed to speak up at the parole hearing. Irene had told the board about how they weren’t any doors in her house because her former husband Rodney hadn’t wanted her to be able to hide behind any of them. And she also told them about the many times that Rodney had raped her and had nearly killed her. Though the thing that she had told the parole board that truly resonated with them was the fact she wasn’t sorry.

Irene had said that she saved herself from a lifetime of further abuse so in her mind she was now free. But the parole board felt there was still something they could to ease Irene’s suffering and they decided to finally grant her request. Irene was to be let out of prison at the first opportunity and Connor had technically won his first case. So Connor had gone home to Oliver and he had tried to recapture what they had however Oliver had pushed Connor away and said that he needed time to put himself first for a change. And so Connor had decided to give up on the apartment because he said that it had been Oliver’s first and he had later gone to Michaela’s apartment.

Michaela though had company so she had to explain herself. Michaela and Asher were still sleeping together and recently Asher had wanted to make their relationship public. So Asher was moments away from pulling the plug on whatever it is that he had with Michaela because she didn’t want to tell anyone about them when Connor showed up. Connor had needed a place to crash for a while and he honestly wasn’t judgmental. He just said ok and then went to go sleep on the couch because he was still heartbroken because of everything that happened with Oliver.

However, despite what she and Connor did for Irene, Annalise had been asked to come in by the president of the university and there she had been faced with the school board. The school board had found out about the posters and they thought that it wasn’t good for their image. So the board had wanted to terminate Annalise’s contract yet she had sworn if they did so that she would file a lawsuit against the university. Annalise had told them that an ugly lawsuit played out in the press would be more attention to the school than they could handle. And when Annalise wasn’t threatening the school board, she was manipulating Laurel.

Annalise and Bonnie had found out that Laurel had been calling Frank. So one night when Wes came over to eat dinner and had told her that Laurel was his best friend – she decided to play with that angle. Annalise and Bonnie had gotten Laurel to admit that she was calling Frank and then they got her to leave a loving message for Frank. Begging him to come homes because they all love and miss him. Yet, fast-forward two months into the future and it was Annalise that was being arrested because the police thought she had set fire to her own house.
