Was Kate Middleton flirting with Olympian Ben Ainslie when the two tested out a T1 boat for a sailing training mission? A glance at some of the photos may lead Royal watchers to believe so! Does Kate have a crush on Ben or was she trying to make Prince William jealous?
For the first time in what seems like ages Kate had a genuine smile on her face as the duo put through their paces during exercises involving a Land Rover CAT and the aforementioned T1 boat. Ben and Kate seemed to be quite chummy the moment they met at the docks at Portsmouth upon Kate’s arrival.
As Kate is chatting with an unknown woman at the 1851 Trust, the charitable arm of Land Rover BAR, Ben can be seen sneaking a glance at the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate did look stunning in a sailor-inspired cream and navy blouse and dark navy skirt.
Of course Kate Middleton may have no interest whatsoever in Ben Ainslie, though he is quite a handsome man. The flirty closeness the two shared could have simply been Kate’s way of making Prince William jealous.
After all, Prince William did run off to former girlfriend Jecca Craig’s wedding over the Easter holiday. Poor William appears to still be paying for that lapse in judgment.
Many Royal watchers have pointed out that in one photo Kate Middleton and Ben Ainslie are discreetly touching hands as Ben throws a subtle glance the Duchess of Cambridge’s way. Does this remind anyone of the photo of Princess Diana presenting James Hewitt with an extremely large trophy?

The mission of the initiative is to involve, engage, inspire and encourage young people from all walks of life to learn about the science, technology, engineering and math necessary for those who work in the marine and maritime industries.
Ben Ainslie is the most successful sailor in Olympic history. Kate Middleton grew up with a love for sailing. The two could end up spending a lot of time together!
