Kate Middleton’s Hollywood dreams might become a reality soon enough. Apparently, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is very eager to meet and ‘hang out’ with her distant, royal cousin as she recently admitted that she wants to learn more about the Duchess of Cambridge.
Ellen DeGeneres revealed several years ago that she is indeed related to Kate Middleton. The two are 15th cousins through their common ancestor, Sir Thomas Fairfax. And while Ellen DeGeneres and Kate Middleton are yet to meet in person, the popular talk show host is opening up her door in hopes that Prince William’s wife will visit her in Los Angeles so they can not only talk about their family’s history, but catch up with their personal lives as well.
According to Hello Magazine, Ellen said, “Everyone thinks I’m joking, but I’m not. So, if we’re related, we should start hanging out together.”
What’s more, Ellen DeGeneres is looking forward to meeting the entire family as well, including Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children, 3-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who just turned one years old this past May.
The comedienne quipped, “I saw that picture of Prince George in his robe with President Obama and I’m like, ‘I have a clothing line [ED by Ellen], I can give him clothes, I can make a special robe for him.’ I don’t know why they don’t want to get in good with me because I’m like a gravy train for that kid.”
Knowing how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge love a good photo opportunity when they see one, there’s no doubt that the royal couple would love to jet to Hollywood to meet Kate Middleton’s cousin. After all, they were all smiles when they met President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during their visit to London earlier this year. And who can forget those photos of Kate Middleton and Prince William with NBA star LeBron James from 2014?
Considering how Prince William and Kate Middleton’s schedule isn’t as busy as it should be given their royal status, a trip to California in the near future isn’t a bad idea, especially with Queen Elizabeth’s blessing. It’s not like the Duke and Duchess are doing very much with their charity work anyhow.
In fact, Ellen DeGeneres’s invitation would definitely be the talk of Kensington Palace, as the royals would no doubt hop on the next flight from London to LAX at any given moment. They do after all love taking multiple overseas vacations every year.
