Tonight on ABC the glitz and the glamour returns to the ballroom as Dancing With The Stars returns for a 23rd season. Actress & Author Maureen McCormick & her professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev & Artem Chigvintsev took the stage tonight and danced a Viennese Waltz to “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman” by Mary J. The premiere episode kicked off with the largest scale opening number ever, shot with the pros at Griffith Observatory. Each couple performed a Jive, Foxtrot, Cha Cha or Viennese Waltz, vying for America’s vote for the first time. No couples will be eliminated tonight, and they will all advance to week 2 of the competition.
Maureen is very excited about dancing and tweeted a message to her twitter fans to encourage them to vote for her and Artem, she tweeted, “@DancingABC premieres tonight w/best partner @artemchigvintse RT this & save1-800-868-3409 beginning 7p CT/8p PT+ET”
Judges comments on Maureen McCormick’s DWTS Premiere Viennese Waltz: Bruno: “Relax you are here. You move very well. Now that you have gotten started, relax more, nice and easy smoother footwork.” Carrie Ann: “I think your vulnerability will serve you well. But, trust Artem a little more he is going to guide you well. Trust that!” Len, “I love your enthusiasm there was beautiful movement. You need refinement. Work on the details.”
