Lately, Villa has been trying to make herself more accommodating. It seems that she had found out her captain had lost out on the Chief of Police job because he had been unwilling to fire her last week. And so on tonight’s episode of “Rosewood” she finally agreed to getting a partner.

Only Villla’s agreement ended up being easier said than done. Somehow the detective found a way to shoot down one option after another and it resulted in her still being without a partner when a new case happened to fall in her lap. And the latest case also just happened to be high-profile.

The body of a fifteen-year-old girl had been found in some wooded areas and there had been no identification whatsoever. However, things only got worse with investigation when the official medical examiner was actually stumped on the cause of death. Max said he tried everything and was able to determine the girl hadn’t been dead for long, but he knew none of his usual methods were going to yield results so he was forced to turn to Rosewood on this one.

And Rosewood did offer to help. His lab was later able to facial reconstruct the victim’s face and therefore they knew what the badly decomposed body originally looked like. Yet it was Pippy that had figured out something crucial regarding the victim.

Apparently she had noticed the varicose veins, the malnourishment, and also the obvious stress on the feet as symptoms often recognized in the homeless. So she knew their Jane Doe had been homeless and possibly a runaway. And the reason Pippy had saw the signs before her brother was because she herself had once ran away and had lived two months out on the streets.

Which is something her fiancée hadn’t known about. Though there was a lot Tara didn’t know like why Pippy even felt the need to run away. Pippy, you see, had come out to her family when she was a teenager and she had been supported by both her brother as well as her father. Donna on the other hand hadn’t supported her child.

In fact, she tried to tell Pippy to be something different all because she wasn’t going to allow her child to be gay. So, although Donna is a different person now, maybe she shouldn’t’ have judged Tara’s mother so harshly seeing as she knew where the other woman was coming from. And only saw the light once her daughter had chosen to live on the streets rather than be in the same house as her.

But that’s Donna. Pippy had told her mother that she likes to rewrite history and it seems that’s been a common feature of Donna’s.

Pippy though wanted to help in Villa’s investigation and so two Rosewoods on the case caused a problem with Villa’s new partner. Villa’s partner Martinez was a stickler for procedure and thus their partnership lasted all four hours before he told her that he was going to be asked to be placed with someone else. And while Villa preferred it just being her and Rosie, she truly felt dumped by the fact Martinez couldn’t last a whole shift with her.

Yet Rosewood found it funny. He too liked what he has with Villa and they didn’t really need any additional people, but at least Pippy was able to connect them with some of her old contacts on the street. And that led to Villa finding a friend of the victim who could finally identify her.

The kid that died was Alice. Alice and her friend Kira used to steal from people and the detective assumed it was to to pay off their drug habit because drugs had been in Alice’s autopsy. However, there was something more pressing to worry about.

The two girls were apparently never far from each other’s side. So Villa and Rosewood had to look for Kira before whatever happened to Alice happened to her. And their best bet lied with the girls’ mutual friend Oscar.

Only Oscar was ill. He had been taken to the hospital by Villa and Rosewood and it turns out the hazards of being exposed to meth had played havoc on his system. But, despite receiving medical care because of them, Oscar refused to talk the police because he hadn’t want to snitch on the group’s hiding spots.

So that’s when Rosewood told Oscar about his sister. The same sister that he had been very concerned about and who he knew needed help while she was away. And so Oscar eventually did tell the two where they could find Kira.

And they found her alive at some abandoned house, but she too needed help. It was later revealed that Kira and her friends had been living in an old rental property that was still owned by her parents. Though that rental property had been used to cook meth.

Thus they were making themselves sick every time they breathed in the air. Yet, Kira’s parents hadn’t been the one behind the drugs at the house. It had instead been a trusted friend of theirs that had used the place knowing it was going to be reclaimed by the bank in the end. And the same friend had found out Kira was staying there but didn’t say anything and went on to kill Alice when she had seen him.

And truthfully both Alice and Kira had come from good homes. They had just run away because they had been lost. Like Pippy had once been.

Only, once the case had wrapped up, Captain Hornstock decided to do Pippy a favor. He found the friend she had made and who had protected her on the streets. And as it happens, Cassie also turned her life around.

THE END!
