The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Eric (John McCook) will have to make a decision that affects the future of Forrester Creations. In light of Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) revelation, Eric believes a change in leadership may be necessary. Rick (Jacob Young) is certainly pushing for Ridge to be ousted.
Of course, there’s a lot to consider when it comes to choosing a CEO. In addition to Rick, B&B spoilers say Thomas (Pierson Fode) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) will offer themselves as potential candidates. Eric won’t want any of his family members to feel snubbed, but they can’t all be CEO. He’ll have to make a choice.
Let’s look at what each of the contenders would bring to the table. First, we have Rick. Eric pretty much knows what he’d be getting. Rick did a decent job as far as business goes, but he rubbed people the wrong way at the office. He abused his power and that’s something Eric probably hasn’t forgotten.
Next, there’s Thomas. He doesn’t really have the know-how a good CEO should have. Thomas is just now trying to move out of his reckless phase. Plus, it would be kind of odd to swap out Ridge for the other half of his scandal. After all, questions could swirl in the media about Douglas’ conception.
Still, it might be the route to take if The Bold and the Beautiful writers truly wanted to stick it to Ridge. After losing both his “son” and the CEO position to Thomas, Ridge would undoubtedly be dejected and resentful. Nevertheless, there’s another option that Eric will have to give some serious thought.
Steffy is a bit of a firecracker and she could breathe life into the brand. She’s currently serving as the president of Forrester Creations, so promoting her would make sense. The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers indicate that Eric will share a warm chat with Steffy shortly after he makes his selection. That could be a sign that things are leaning in Steffy’s direction.
However, we can’t ignore the Quinn (Rena Sofer) factor. She’s already becoming a major influence in Eric’s life. In fact, Eric will end up turning to Quinn for advice in the midst of this company crisis. Quinn will remind Eric that he built this business. She’ll urge him to take it back.
Could Eric avoid hurting everyone’s feelings by returning to the throne himself? That might present some interesting opportunities for Quinn. Eric may have been itching to get back in power anyway.
We also can’t rule out the idea that Eric might change his mind and let Ridge remain in his spot. Then again, Eric might choose a different route and go for new co-CEOs. For example, Eric could team up with Steffy for a while before he hands over the reins completely.
