“The Bold and the Beautiful” (B&B) spoilers reveal that the role of Ed De La Rosa has been cast. You might remember the casting call that said they were on the hunt for “a confident, polished attorney in his 30s.” Serial Scoop is reporting that Kurt Caceres will pop up for a two-episode stint as this hotshot lawyer.
Caceres may be a familiar face to “General Hospital” fans. He played Javier on the ABC soap, but now he’s headed to CBS for what we assume is a somewhat pivotal part. It should be interesting to see what brings Ed De La Rosa into the fray on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” There are several storylines that could lead to this attorney’s appearances down the road.
First, there’s a potential custody battle brewing for Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Thomas (Pierson Fode). If Rick (Jacob Young) hears that Ridge is passing off his grandson as his son, he’ll likely cause a scandal. Once everyone learns the truth, Thomas might decide he’s not OK with being a big brother after all. Could Ed fight for Thomas’ parental rights?
Of course, we also have major drama coming for Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom). A misunderstanding with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) will lead to more turmoil for this couple. It’s possible that a divorce could be looming.
There could be custody issues here as well. If Katie’s drinking continues, Bill would obviously want to protect Will (Zane Achor). These parents could engage in a war for their son. Then again, this attorney could be consulted on Rick’s plans for a hostile takeover at Forrester Creations. He may need some help to finish off Ridge once and for all.
Regardless of what puts Ed De La Rosa in the mix, it looks like legal conflict will be taking center stage soon. We should mention that a casting call for a possible Hope recast was sent out at the same time as Ed’s. Exciting news could be on the way!
If that casting call is indeed for Hope, that might mean B&B has also found or is at least close to finding Kim Matula’s replacement. Many viewers would happily accept a recast. Hope’s been out of the picture for quite a while and a fresh face would be just fine. We’ll give you updates as we learn more about Hope’s future.
