The second precinct was forced into mourning on tonight’s all new episode of “The Mysteries of Laura”.

Due to a recent shooting, the precinct had lost their Captain Santiani and its safe to say that not a single person in their division chose to call in sick or simply be at home in the days that followed. Instead they just showed up to work and immediately began to look in their captain’s death. And therefore a lot of them were forced to ask why. Why their captain?

Santiani had been relatively new to their squad and she hadn’t been on a job a full year when an equipped assassin took a shot at her during a press conference. So when the detectives had asked themselves who could have hated their captain that much to have taken such a chance, they came up blank. There hadn’t been any names in Santiani’s files that had raised any red flags yet there had been a name in Laura’s.

Laura had after all been standing right next to Santiani and later diagnostics mentioned that the murder weapon could have had to deal with some drag in the air because of the temperature at that time of night. Thus Meredith and Billy had looked into who would want to hurt Laura and the only person they could think of was Jimmy Chun. An Asian gang leader that had killed Laura’s sister’s boyfriend and who had threatened Laura last week when she arrested him for fraud as well as murder.

Although there was one drawback with that theory. Jimmy was supposedly still in lockup and the detectives had been doubtable about whether or not he could have killed in a hit on Laura. So Meredith and Billy had at first wanted to speak with Jimmy in order to see where his head was. And it turned out he had escaped custody.

Jimmy had apparently switched his ID bracelet with someone else in lockup so that the system read he was still in custody while secretly he had actually met up with his baby mother who had delivered a baby twelve days ago. Though, thankfully, Laura had remembered the picture of that baby and she traced the hospital blanket back to the hospital. And from there, she got a current address for the baby mother which lead to the finding Jimmy again.

Only Jimmy later swore he had nothing to do with the hit and was able to provide the police with information. Like how he had heard someone was putting out big money to take out a cop and it wasn’t necessarily Laura. So the precinct, again, had to look into their captain.

But, just as they finally returned their focus to Santiani, her teenage son was reported missing by his grandmother and the only person the detectives could think of who would have taken advantage of Santiani’s death like that would be her ex-husband. The same one she once admitted to hitting her and who she often referred to as a bum. Hence the detectives found it incredible suspicious that Vince DeLuca had recently tried to take out a loan and that such a loan could have been used to pay for a hitman.

And thus Vince became the precinct biggest suspect in his ex-wife’s murder and, while they were looking for him, Laura remembered Santiani had also mentioned she kept close tabs on her son after one particular incident in Walmart. So she asked for Max’s help to break into Santiani’s computer and she had gotten lucky once they had cracked the password because there she found the Kid Finder App still running and it gave her the location of Justin Santiani- DeLuca.

Only when the quad found Justin, they realized they didn’t bust in to find on a kidnapping. They had actually come upon a desperate father just trying to protect his son. And who was running because he thought that was the best way he could keep Justin safe.

Vince, you see, had owed money to certain people and these people had personally lost a cousin that was formerly NYPD. So, because of what they had experienced, they knew that Vince’s son Justin was going to be inheriting a lot of money thanks to insurance policy out on his mother the police captain. And unfortunately both Richie and Eddie Nolan had thought Justin’s money would be in Vince’s hands as his son’s legal guardian, but apparently they had failed to take Satiani’s mother into account.

Therefore, Vince couldn’t get them the money even he wanted to and these brothers decided to retaliate by threatening Justin.

However, the police were able to help now that they had been clued in. So Vince helped them to get the brothers to admit to what they did on recording and the second precinct were ultimately able to arrest their captain’s murders, but Billy later had one final piece of news for Laura. He told her about the engagement ring that Jake had shown him and that was supposed to be Jake’s new girlfriend that he had only been seeing for a month.

And Laura freaked out. She was still in love with Jake and she didn’t want to lose him so her sister told her to seize the moment. Which in Diamond speak meant bursting in on Jake’s date and asking him to see her alone.

All so she could tell him that she still wanted to be with him, but sadly Laura had been a little too late because Jen had already been wearing the ring by time she showed up.

THE END!
