There is so much to talk about as season 7 approaches, who is Negan’s victim? Chris introduces Austin Amelio (Dwight Brown) and Yvette Nicole Brown. Chris asks Yvette what was her feeling on the season 6 cliffhanger. Yvette says she loves that people are talking about it all summer and excited for October, it’s a great old-fashioned cliffhanger. Chris says he went to

Chris says he went to Comic-Con and spoke to Scott Gimple and is really excited for season 7. In fact, he was shooting something in northern California and this barber screamed across the street, “I think it is Glen.” Yvette agrees, the community is coming together. Chris asks Austin what it is like to be playing the guy who messes with one of the most beloved characters on the show.

Austin says that a lot of people are really skeptical of him and some just walk by and give him dirty looks. Chris says that Dwight is an important character. Austin says the final scene of season 6 was really heavy, you walked away after it happened and the moment stayed with you for a couple of days – there was not a light mood going on at the time, not even with the crew, it was really heavy.

Chris asks if Yvette if she wants to know who Negan killed and she says no, she doesn’t want it spoiled. Yvette says that she had a random conversation with a cast member at Comic-Con and he said over the last three or four months he hasn’t been able to have a real conversation with anyone for fear of leaking out who Negan killed.

Chris plays a video of Jeffrey Dean Morgan telling how much his life has changed since he has been on The Walking Dead, “All that has aired for me is twelve minutes and I have been to Comic-Con probably 10 times in the past twelve years and I have never seen anything like this. It is a different deal, the amount of excitement and anticipation for this show is mind blowing. When we walked out on to the convention floor it was like being the Beatles, it was that kind of crazy. I think the show has such a special relationship with its fans. A lot of care is taken to make sure the fans get what they want and which is a great television show. And, for me now to be a part of that, is just awesome, I couldn’t be happier.”

Jeffrey goes on to say that when they first show the first Negan stuff, there was one panel in particular when Negan leans back with an odd posture and a big ass smile, it has become such a big part of Negan’s character. The posture and the smile, it is used as some kind of weapon, it can disarm you and it is threatening at the same time, it is part of his repertoire, his charm, and brutality. This is a guy who can smile at you and smash your face in.

Yvette says when she first saw Negan she felt it was magical casting because there was no other villain that she cared to understand. Yvette reminds us that we think our group is a good group, but they walked into a place and killed people in their sleep. Chris says that Rick has been through a lot, but he got cocky. Yvette agrees, but she feels like Michonne is Rick’s fail safe. Yvette thinks some of the bad things that happened in season 6 is because of some bad decisions Rick has made.

Austin says that watching Negan come to life was awesome, he loved it.

There is a Facebook question and Chris poses it to Yvette – if you were Negan, who would you have killed? Yvette says Dwight (they all laugh) because she wouldn’t kill one of the group. Although strategically, Michonne or Carl because it would debilitate Rick.

Melissa McBride (Carol) says that she is really excited for season 7 and Shiva, she doesn’t think the fans are going to be disappointed.

Chris talks about Fandoms and says that there is none greater than The Walking Dead. Twitter question for Austin, “do you think Dwight has remorse for killing Denise?” Austin says it is for them to decide, but he thinks Dwight has no remorse. Austin goes on to reveal that he never watched The Walking Dead before being booked for the show.

Chris asks Yvette if she thinks Dwight could ever become a good guy, she says she thinks there is a chance for him, Chris takes a poll and 61% think Dwight can become a good guy.

Lennie James (Morgan) says that Morgan will end up on the road to the Kingdom in season 7 and one of the things that excites him is how Morgan survives in this type of group without Rick as an anchor or over his shoulder. This is Morgan meeting people who know nothing about him or his history. One of the things that is most interesting is that Morgan smiles in the Kingdom and it will be interesting to see why he is doing that. The thing Lennie is going to enjoy the most is where he and Melissa take their characters. Melissa agrees and loves working with Lennie. Lennie says that if you ask everyone on set who they would like to work with most, they would say Melissa.

Chris asks Yvette what she would like to see from Carol’s character in season 7. Yvette says she wants her to be emotionally healed and back to herself again.

Chris asks Austin if we will find out what happened to Dwight in season 7 and Austin says tune in. Chris asks Yvette if she knows what happened to Dwight’s face, she says it was probably Negan because he is a kind of tit for tat guy.

Austin says that he was so scared starting on the show, but everyone was so nice.

Tom Payne (Jesus) says that as far as Jesus’ fighting ability goes, he was super excited to put all that into the show and can’t wait for the fans to see it.

Chris asks Yvette if Jesus is a trustworthy character, she says no because he lied about how many people were in Negan’s group and sent Rick’s group to a slaughter; she doesn’t trust him.

A fan has a question for Yvette, what is her favorite season 6 entry in her notebook. Yvette says when someone shot Daryl and she wrote, lord not like this, not like this. Number two would be when Michonne and Rick got together.

The cast is asked how people should prepare themselves for episode 1 of season 7. Norman Reedus (Daryl) says to be with someone you care about, hold their hand and you will probably want to smash your television set, surround your room with a lot of happy things. Chandler Riggs (Carl) says he has a couple of cats and he will keep them very close. Melissa McBride (Carol) says that it would be wise to have someone with you that you love, someone to hold, the premiere is going to be rough and when you think you know what is going to happen, you are not going to be prepared for what is going to happen.

THE END!
