'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Patty Williams Tells Adam Newman That Christian is Alive?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers teased the Christian reveal in the past but with Fall sweeps on the way it’s time to revisit this critical storyline. Now, the only person in the world who knows more about Christian than Sharon (Sharon Case) will be seen again on-screen in a few weeks.

Seasoned viewers recall who said, “You took her itty bitty little birdie and you put it in Sharon’s nest.” Yes, the inimitable Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) stunned Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) with that information. Now, Patty is the character who will shock Adam Newman back to consciousness by telling him that his son Christian is still alive.

Patty has courageously battled mental health issues for many years. As Paul (Doug Davidson) knows, his sister is also smart, brave and resilient. She was last seen being taken to a facility after she killed Dr. Anderson with a letter opener in self-defense.

No fan who has followed Y&R would doubt Patty’s ability to escape from any location. But, what if an unconscious Adam Newman (formerly played by Justin Hartley) was taken to the same spot where she was being held?

Yes, Adam somehow wasn’t blown to smithereens after Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) shot him with a dart and left him for dead. That mystery lingers as the next face of this character is shown inside the hospital. So, Patty spotted Adam one day as she walked by his room. She entered and began a sporadic conversation over the course of many weeks.

Patty doesn’t know that Adam is the father of Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) baby, or that Sage is now dead. She hasn’t trusted Adam in the past. But, she’s taken pity on him because of his current condition. Eventually, her comments about the baby swap scenario will be heard. The news that Christian never died will force Adam’s eyes to open and be the cause of his full revival.

Serialized fiction has it’s flaws to be sure, as do speculative theories. But, both points don’t have to be totally realistic, or even fully believable. So, yes no one other than Patty recognized Adam as he was being nursed back to health and these two people just happened to be in the same building at the same time in soapy history.

Why would a mental health patient and an unconscious man be kept at the same location? Well, health care costs have forced co-mingling. And, light-hearted soap opera viewers understand that suspending disbelief allows for entertainment to be enjoyed more deeply.
