‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Which Y&R Supercouple Was Best in 2016?

The Young and the Restless spoilers had a super year documenting all things Y&R. Now, as 2016 comes to an end readers are being asked to vote for their favorite supercouple. Now let’s get to it, in no particular order of importance.

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Devon (Bryton James) have it all. Youth, intelligence, looks and chemistry. Old-school fans saw the intended reference to Dru (Victoria Rowell) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) when Hevon first formed in the past. But two characters aren’t likely to ever reach those heights again. And yes, Niktor (Nikki, Melody Thomas Scott and Victor, Eric Braeden) fans just extended their claws.

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Justin Hartley) were powerful. It’s hard to vote against this supercouple that has become a past tense reference. Hartley did a stellar job in replacing Michael Muhney, starting in 2014. Egan’s chops were further evidenced when she nicely teamed with her second leading man. Reading between the lines, is this supercouple the scribe’s choice?

Travis (Michael Roark) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) had chemistry, but only endured for about six months. The anti-Billy seemed to be an antidote for rehashing the old Villy storyline again and again and again. Then, Roark was written out of this soap and Trilly was dead.

Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) are making their marriage work, which is impressive for soap opera couples. Both characters are great together, which is why they’re also great parents. The romantic bond Lane shares remains a model in Genoa City as well.

Sharon (Sharon Case) and Dylan (Steve Burton) formed an organic bond and eventually married. They were never highly compelling, but seemed to fit well together. But Sharon’s opting to conceal what she knew about Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) didn’t kill Shylan. Instead, Burton’s voluntarily exit from the cast has likely ended this supercouple.
