The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Patty Takes Mariah's Bait – Crazy Act Enables Surprise Real Escape

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Patty’s (Stacy Haiduk) acceptance of Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) bait will lead to an escape. However, the plan that Sharon (Sharon Case) asked her daughter to relay through a glass partition won’t go as planned.

Instead, Patty’s erratic nature will become a major wild card in the evolution of this baby-swap storyline.

Sharon didn’t really have a choice. After learning that Patty was the person who had been making a series of phone calls to her house on the Newman Ranch she was presented with one option.

Help Patty escape from the Stoneville facility, where she’s been held since murdering Dr. Sandra Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush), or have Sully’s identity exposed.

So, Sharon sent Mariah to Stoneville to tell Patty how her blackmail demand would be met. Mariah told Patty to act crazy, which would hopefully result in her brother Paul (Doug Davidson) successfully requesting a move to a better facility, that’s also far less secure and out of town.

Soon after Mariah left Patty put on a great act for her doctor in hopes of pushing the plan forward on The Young and the Restless.

Considering the fact that Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) was taken from her at birth (by Adam, then played by Michael Muhney), Sharon should have known it was wrong to keep another woman’s (Sage, Kelly Sullivan) child. But, she decided to carry Sandy’s malicious baby-swap baton after confirming that Sully was Christian via a DNA test.

Then, after confiding in Mariah, Sharon also made her daughter promise to collude with her.

Patty was actually another victim of the deranged and now deceased Dr. Anderson. While she was confined to the Fairview mental health facility, Patty learned that Sharon wasn’t pregnant. Eventually she confronted the malpracticing psychiatrist about the matter.

Sandy confessed and then tried to silence her patient with a high-powered sedative. But, Miss Kitty’s owner reacted in self-defense and stabbed her to death.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Dylan (Steve Burton) remain in an equally precarious position, even though the brothers don’t know it. Neither man is actually Christian’s father, but that fact gets ahead of the current storyline.

At this point in Genoa City history many people believe that Christian died and that ‘Shylan’ have a nearly one-year-old baby boy named Sully. And now the long-awaited resolution of Part 1 of this arc is about to play out.
