Brad Pitt is struggling to forgive Angelina Jolie for her ugly smear campaign against him. In fact, sources reveal that Brad is still very upset about how their divorce and personal issues made headlines late last year.
According to E! News, the Hollywood actor is having a tough time forgiving Angelina for not only pulling the plug on their marriage, but also trying to ruin his reputation in the process.
One source close to the couple dished, “Brad is way too upset still. He blames Angie for how public everything became. He knows that eventually it is best to forgive her and be on good terms for the sake of the children but he feels let down in a way he never thought was possible. He saw a different side of her and he can’t forget. The way everything went down has been beyond comprehension.”
Brad Pitt was subjected to a rather nasty smear campaign back in September of 2016 and right after Angelina Jolie announced the couple’s divorce. A lot of details about their marriage and family life were revealed, including Brad’s alleged alcohol and substance abuse problems. I
f that weren’t enough, many media outlets reported on Brad’s supposed anger issues and a big fight between him and son Maddox Jolie-Pitt on a flight from Paris to Minneapolis. Things got so heated that Angelina decided to file for divorce a week after the incident.
For the longest time, a lot of industry insiders believed that Brad Pitt’s career was over. There was no way he could recover from the nasty smear campaign and awful headlines following Angelina’s shocking divorce announcement. But luckily, things have turned around for him. He’s been making more and more public and red carpet appearances. Brad retaliated by suggesting that Angelina was unhinged and out of control and also criticized her for failing to keep documents related to their children’s custody battle private.
Angelina, on the other hand, hasn’t been so visible. She’s only made one trip to promote a film in Cambodia and briefly spoke about her divorce in an interview with the BBC. No one knows if Brad and Angelina will ever manage to fix their broken relationship. For now, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen, especially since Brad has been fighting Angelina for more access to their six kids.
