Amal Alamuddin is getting no love from the public these days. Many of her critics are saying that she is only being honored for her human rights work, such as it is, because of her new A-list celebrity status. Many even believe that Amal would still be a nobody if it weren’t for her marriage to Hollywood star George Clooney.
Amal was honored with the prestigious Woman of Impact Award in Davos with a special dinner hosted by New York-based socialite Tina Brown. Both Amal and George Clooney attended the event, along with many celebrities and politicians, including Tidjane Thiam and former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
In fact, a lot of Amal’s critics are surprised that she received the award, as they don’t believe her to be one of the most influential women in the world. Many have noted that she hasn’t won a court case in years. Some are even surprised that she was honored at the dinner for her human rights work, when in fact, that’s what she’s paid to do.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Amal has been slammed for being a wannabe A-list celebrity. Yet, she’s doing whatever it takes to generate publicity and keep her name in the headlines. Back in October, Amal was heavily criticized when she vowed to single-handedly stop ISIS by taking them to court.
There were also reports indicating that she insulted a UN Iraq Ambassador. Amal and her camera crew requested an interview with the ambassador but was denied her request. That didn’t stop Amal from still speaking to him in a dismissive, lecturing tone in front of other dignitaries. Many eyewitnesses said that she was even escorted out of the Iraqi UN Mission of Iraq in New York City for her obnoxious behavior.
If that weren’t enough, her husband George Clooney was even humiliated when the press called him a ‘trophy’ husband. And now, many insiders even believe that Amal might be trolling the media by refusing to confirm her pregnancy even though she’s been photographed on numerous occasions sporting what looks like a baby bump.
