General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal it’s not just Alexandra Devane (Finola Hughes) in Port Charles right now, but Anna Devane (also Finola Hughes) is there too. It turns out the twins are working together to tag team Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) since Anna alone wasn’t enough.
Anna did leave Port Charles looking for answers when she was perplexed why she couldn’t remember sleeping with Valentin. Anna went to see her twin Alex who’s been living in Hungary after leaving Pine Valley. Alex confirmed Anna’s suspicions – it was Alex that slept with Valentin, not Anna.
It was also Alex that showed up to Valentin’s house to confirm that she remembered the events of that night. General Hospital spoilers claim Alex knew the details of their encounter because she was there. And Alex was telling the truth when she said Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) brainwashed her into working for DVX.
Faison was working with Charlotte Devane, Alex’s fake mom, who on All My Children, was really the twins’ aunt. Charlotte was deeply involved with the shady cartel. Nathan Varni promised more AMC and One Life to Live ties ins, and this is another instance of where they’re doing so.
On AMC, the cartel Charlotte worked for was mysterious, so General Hospital writers are retroactively making it DVX, the evil GH cartel from back in the day in Port Charles. Anna and Alex are working together now with both in Port Charles so one can always be monitoring the listening device they planted on Valentin.
It’s a big house, so when someone drops by, they can swap out. That’s what happened when Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) came by. Alex was eavesdropping on Valentin and Nina Clay Cassadine (Michelle Stafford) when Andre came knocking at the door. Remember what happened next?
“Anna” excused herself for a moment and left the room. She returned a few moments later looking slightly different. She has on a pinker lip gloss before and when she came back had on a slightly darker, no gloss shade of lip wear. Her hair was also subtly different. General Hospital spoilers tease that’s because it was a twin swap.
Alex knew she couldn’t be alone with Andre since she doesn’t have a rapport with him so she swapped out with Anna who could get rid of him. That was also strange. Anna is usually willing to sit and talk with her friends including Andre and Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) but she’s been brushing them off lately.
That’s because some of the time, it’s Alex and other times, it’s Anna. When it’s Alex, she can’t be around them too long or they might notice something is off. In fact, General Hospital spoilers predict it’s Griffin that realizes Anna is not herself – quite literally. Griffin knows Anna well and is an observant guy.
When Griffin calls out Alex, he will have to be brought into the loop. But Griffin will keep the twins’ secret since he wants to see Valentin taken down too. The twin twist also explains why sickly Anna was able to take down Nina so easily in the confrontation at her house.
Alex wants to make thing right since it’s partially her fault Anna is in this mess plus she wants Anan to be able to rest and recover from her recent blood cancer treatments. This way, “Anna” can be working the case while the real Anna takes a rest and only subs in when she has to.
