General Hospital Spoilers: Kirsten Storms Absence Explained – New GH Plot – Maxie Abandons Nathan

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal the three-month extended leave of absence of Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) from General Hospital will be explained with a new plot starting next week (March 27-March 31) on the ABC Soap. Next week on new GH episodes, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) kicks off the reveal of why his newlywed wife is nowhere to be found.

This will be the third absence Kirsten Storms has taken from GH. One absence was explained by endometriosis and the second by skin problems. This latest and longest gap in her appearance on the soap has come suddenly and without explanation.

Kirsten Storms continues to be radio silent on Twitter and Instagram while her ex-husband Brandon Barash (GH’s Johnny Zacchara) is posting near constant photos of himself with the couple’s young daughter Harper Rose Barash (ex-Georgie Spinelli on GH).

Right after Maxie and Nathan’s wedding, it seemed that Naxie fell right into bed and then right off the soap’s active plot lines. That worked out for a few weeks since Ryan Paevey was off making a new movie in Kentucky and was on that set for a month.

But now that he’s back to General Hospital, Maxie’s absence must be addressed. Lucky for Kirsten Storms, Maxie lost her job right after she got hitched. Maxie allowed Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) unauthorized access to Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) at the Crimson office.

That cost Maxie her job and was very likely intended to set up an extended absence for Kirsten Storms. Some General Hospital spoilers have floated that Maxie might be breaking up with Nathan or other explanations for her going missing, but the plot to excuse her going missing will be much more mundane.

Without a job at Crimson, Maxie will take a new job out of town. Maybe it’s an offer from a rival fashion magazine now that she’s got editorial experience at Crimson. Either way, Maxie has shipped out to a location remote from Port Charles and her new hubby.

General Hospital could send Maxie as far as Paris or Milan for a fashion internship or as near as New York City for an opportunity. If it’s the latter, that means Nathan could visit with her off screen and talk about seeing her to keep her name alive in the storyline.

Kirsten’s announced absence came hot on the heels of two interviews by GH honchos Nathan Varni and Frank Valentini. Neither would comment on the fate of Naxie or plot plans for the couples even though they offered juicy details of many other storylines for other couples.

As of now, Kirsten Storms  will not be replaced with a recast and according to the ABC soap, her absence will not affect her contract status. Since Kirsten’s other absences were health related, it’s likely this much longer leave of absence is for the same or similar reason.

General Hospital fans are eager to see Kirsten Storms back in Port Charles in good health so perhaps this extended break will allow Maxie to come back looking healthy and ready to dive right back into romance with her new hot husband Nathan. Ok can anyone be happy in soap land???? It’s ok if she (Maxie) has to leave town to get another fashion job, but to let Nathan cheat on her while she is out of town is just plain crazy….especially since everything they went through with Claudette….if you were going to do this then you should have just let them split before they got married….

  14. You Belong To Me You Are Mine says:

Free Maxie from natbot!!!!!! Nathan is boring as hell!!!!!!

  15. Richgeana White says:

I would rather they just find someone else for Nathan it’s not fair to him that they get this decent storyline then she goes out for cosmetic surgery whenever she gets ready and they have to scrambled for a new storyline find someone new for him who will be around for a longer length of time than 2 or 3 months
