General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) is ready to come clean to Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell), Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Laura Wright) but only after Carly slaps some sense into the wayward kidney donor.
Nelle wants to tell the truth but when her emotions get the best of her and she can’t stop crying, Carly calls her out on fake tears just like Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) did. Nelle is at a breaking point. She lost her dad recently, has no one else in the world and must face the Corinthos family.
Nelle seems to have some bad information from her dad Frank Benson about Carly. Nelle believed what her dad told her about her adoptive sister and it’s likely he blamed a lot of things on Carly like their poverty and him selling Nelle’s kidney on the black market.
When Nelle came to town, all she saw was Carly’s plush life in comparison to her own life that had no money, few friends, and no family. Compared to Nelle, Carly had it all. Don’t forget, that’s exactly how Carly saw Bobbie when she first came to Port Charles.
Nelle is Carly all over again. Carly has to see this, but right now, Carly is too blinded by rage. Not all that rage is aimed at Nelle. Sonny is the source of much of Carly’s anger. Sonny has cheated on Carly before but this is different because she was grieving their son.
It’s not so much the cheating but the lying about it. It is Sonny keeping a secret with Nelle and being emotionally unfaithful that has Carly really furious. So when Nelle tells her this is all her fault and calls her a b*tch, Carly slaps Nelle, rattling her teeth – and maybe some sense into her head.
Nelle has to prove her story. Carly will be shocked to see the silver rattle with her name etched on it. She just saw it in the photos she was looking at for Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) family tree. Carly will recognize it right away. This rattle is the memento that will seal the deal and get Carly to believe her.
Once Carly realizes Nelle is not a blood relative, but is still family, she should calm down and see the similarities between what Nelle did to her and what Carly did to Bobbie. Nelle will also show Carly the letter from her father Frank and Carly will realize why Nelle came after her.
Nelle has been misguided from the start and acting out based on her father’s anger, not her own. Nelle needs to hear the truth and Carly needs to hear the lies Nelle was told. With all of this aired out, Carly and Nelle can calm down, especially when Nelle reveals there was no sex with Sonny.
The bigger issue is that Sonny won’t care who Nelle is or why she came. When he writes someone off, he’s done. Michael will listen to Nelle and feel bad for her because he’s an empathetic guy who cares about people while Sonny is a loose cannon.
Once the Nelle truth comes out and Carly recognizes her as a sort-of sister, things should be good. Except they won’t be. Nelle’s presence can still rip apart the Corinthos clan because Sonny will want her gone and Michael and Carly will not.
The truth may not set this family free but it’s long overdue to GH fans who are sick of this storyline dragging out. Share your comments below on how you think the big final Nelle reveal will rock the Corinthos family.
