General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that a character is fated for death in Port Charles this summer and there are five top candidates for the role of who will be exiting the ABC soap. Three of the candidates are said to have asked to exit, one is facing a script write out, and one is awaiting a contract renewal. The General Hospital report is that the character has already been written out, but who will it be?
Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) has a couple of years left on her contract but there’s persistent talk that she’s asked to leave General Hospital. If so, Hayden’s pregnancy offers an easy out, as does her prior illness. Hayden could always have a recurrence of Blackwood Syndrome or a serious pregnancy complication. Hayden could fall back into a coma or could simply die and exit permanently.
Dr Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) is another General Hospital cast member that is hinted to be considering leaving his role. There’s no word on how much time is left on Easton’s contract, but given that he’s played several roles on General Hospital, even if he left the ABC soap or was killed off, he could always be brought back. Dr Obrecht might take him down or a plot twist could send him away.
Julian Jerome (William deVry) is awaiting trial on the charges of conspiring with his crazy sister Olivia “Liv” Jerome (Tonja Walker). The GH talk is that William’s contract has not been renewed so it would be simple enough to send him off to Pentonville for life if they can’t work out a deal. This is one actor that seems to want to stay but it might come down to a budgetary issue between Will and TPTB at General Hospital.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is another character that might be on the chopping block. There are some rumors that Dominic either wants to leave or is facing contract talks. Dante leaving would be rough since him and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) just grew their family with the addition of Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) so it would be pretty traumatic if Dante was killed off.
Dr Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) is another character name that’s been mentioned as a possible exit. Gati isn’t a contract player but recurring so it wouldn’t be such a big deal for her to step back and show up more infrequently. However, the buzz is that Gati might be leaving General Hospital for good. She could always die in a confrontation with Finn or could flee to be with her love Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).
With these five characters at risk, if one or more of these leave GH, it would shake the character canvas. If either Hayden or Finn leave, that opens the other up to new love, but their pregnancy plot complicates things. Equally complicated would be Dante’s exit.
