General Hospital (GH) spoilers promise that summer will heat up soon in Port Charles even as the wildness of May sweeps is cooling off. There’s hot new romance, rekindling of former flames, and challenges for many in Port Charles as summer brings heat, drama, difficult choices, and new beginnings for many of our favorite characters.
Love in the air
Franco (Roger Howarth) and Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) are happily in love and move forward with their plans to share a home with her children. There will be a wedding this summer, but it won’t be Friz. Instead, it’s a Q event when Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) becomes Mrs. Quartermaine as Ned Ashton becomes Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth).
Olivia will rule the roost as the new matriarch of the Quartermaine mansion. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine) grow closer but something from his past returns and could tear them apart. Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) continues her journey of self-discovery and she’ll finally have a new shot at love this summer.
Challenges arise
Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) is dealing with Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) struggle and the shocking baby news. As Hayden faces trouble, Liz steps up to be a true sister and supports her. Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) faces a challenge with her mom Ava Jerome (Maura West). The truth is out about the med swap and Ava is badly burned.
Will Kiki abandon her mother in her hour of pain and need? Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) won’t see Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) anytime soon and long distance love is frustrating. Plus, Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) can’t quit Nathan and he’s pulled into strange circumstances. Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) falls in love this summer but the new teen scene also gets her into trouble.
Major shakeups
The Cassadine family dynamic changes after the Nurses Ball and Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) will spend lots more time with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). General Hospital maternity casting news is that Emme Rylan is reported to not be taking a noticeable maternity leave, so she’ll be around but with a lesser presence. Dante also finds himself pulled into Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) world.
Things get wild at the Q house and Dillon Quartermaine (Robert Watkins) must cope with changes there. Finn and Hayden are shaken by baby complications because of their complex medical histories. The drug test tamperer is exposed – Dr Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) become obsessed with a new nemesis as Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) and Sonny get close again.
Love sparks in strange places
Dr Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) is charged with Ava’s recovery and it looks like the baddest girl in Port Charles and the sexiest doc form a love connection. He heals her wounds and she heals his heart. Ava must first reckon with her terrible life choices and make some changes. Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) and Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) begin to fall in love as she recuperates.
However, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) fights this new relationship. It’s ironic that Carly wants to block Michael and Nelle because Josslyn presents herself as an obstacle to any CarSon reunion. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) can’t let go of Julian Jerome (William deVry) and is front and center at his trial because this will impact any future they might have.
Relationship challenges
Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) must make room in their new relationship for Spencer Cassadine (Nicola Bechtel) who shows up for a surprise visit and stays for a while. Spencer takes on an enemy. GH spoilers hint it might be Valentin because of him killing Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) although GH fans don’t believe he’s dead.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) finally try a little romance to see if they click. This should be a relief for Nina Cassadine (Michelle Stafford) because she’s soft on Valentin but their relationship will face more challenges over the summer thanks to his shady past and interactions with Anna and her twin.
