Honey Boo Boo has stayed out of the spotlight for the past year, or maybe the tabloids and media have had bigger fish to fry. But lest you think that she’s about to go away forever, she has most recently given a new interview to People about her future aspirations.
According to Honey Boo Boo, when Honey Boo Boo grows up, she wants to be a hair and makeup stylist. She explained, “I want to do hair and makeup, but I want to own my own business. I’m going to be the owner, so I can go whenever I’m pleasing to [sic].”
And…. there it is. A relatively normal aspiration, followed by a typical Honey Boo Boo-statement. Obviously, the fact that Honey Boo Boo has spent her entire childhood in front of the cameras – and more often than not dressed to the nines – has made her extremely comfortable with both makeup and hair styling. For those who have ever worked on set, you’ll know the sheer amount of time that is often focused on getting the stars ready for their close up – and most of that time includes getting their hair and makeup perfect.
It makes sense that Honey Boo Boo has a relatively glamorous vision of that future, but it’s hard to imagine that she understands what that entails. She’s spent most of her life being catered to, and now she’s stating that she wants to do other people’s hair and makeup when she gets older? She knows that being a stylist doesn’t entail just working on herself all the time, right?
It’s a stretch to buy that the Honey Boo Boo that we’re so accustomed to would be comfortable taking other people’s orders and catering to her customers, as opposed to the other way around. Then again, she did qualify her goal with ‘I’m going to be the owner’, so perhaps she’ll continue bossing her way through that career as well.
And for those of you that are questioning why Honey Boo Boo is still relevant, well – it’s because she’s currently starring on Mama June: From Not To Hot, about Mama June’s fitness journey; i.e. her attempts to become an actress.
