Kate Middleton is devastated over the new reports that say a French court has delayed their verdict over her topless photos case. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are suing several editors and photographers for publishing topless photos that were taken of Kate during a vacation to the South of France back in 2012. Six defendants are accused of breach of privacy.
And now a French court has decided to postpone its verdict in September. A verdict was meant to be delivered at the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Nanterre on July 4th, but a judge has ruled to postpone it until September 5th.
William and Kate were staying at a private estate owned by Queen Elizabeth’s nephew, Viscount Linley. Photographers used a long-lens camera to photograph Kate Middleton topless without the royals’ consent. This has left the royal couple completely traumatized, especially since Prince William works so hard to keep his personal life and matters as private as possible.
That’s why he’s been doing all that he can to keep his family, which includes his two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, away from the public spotlight.
Back in 2012, a St. James’s Palace released a statement to the press that said, “It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them. We feel a line has been crossed with their publication.” The royals even called the photos completely “grotesque and totally unjustifiable.”
If convicted, the photographers, reporters and editors in the case can face up to one year in jail and fines up to $47,000. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also asking for 1.5 million Euros from the editors of Closer Magazine and another 50,000 Euros from French regional newspaper La Provence.
For Kate Middleton, she just wants this nightmare to end already. She’s had enough and doesn’t need to be reminded of all the humiliation she endured throughout the years with these scandalous photos. Instead, she wants to focus on what matters the most in her life, and that’s her family. And of course, being the most celebrated member of the British royal family in the media right now.
At this point though, there’s nothing that Kate Middleton can do. She just has to wait several more months until justice is served. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on Kate Middleton and the entire royal family right here!
