Kate Middleton had her hands full with Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Pippa Middleton’s wedding to hedge fund manager James Matthews. The Duchess of Cambridge was not involved in her sister’s wedding, but all eyes were still on her. Since Prince William was in the wedding party, Kate had Prince George and Princess Charlotte all to herself. She was seen scolding them throughout the wedding.
Prince George was photographed crying as Kate Middleton wagged her finger and told him off, reports the Daily Beast. Kate was photographed having a serious talk with George outside St. Marks Church in Englefield, Berkshire. George was among a group of young girls and boys were involved with the wedding party. He was also seen with his sister Princess Charlotte. The children wore adorable outfits created by design house Pepa & Co.
The cause of George’s wrongdoing remains unknown. Though Prince William has suggested that Prince George has a mischievous streak, referring to him as “little monkey.” The Daily Mail published a video of Kate scolding George just moments after he stepped on Pippa’s wedding gown. Video shows the young lad stepping on his aunt’s wedding dress as she was leaving the church with her husband.
Kate immediately grabbed George and told him off. He was later seen pouting and crying outside the church as Kate did her best to calm him down. Prince George tried to continue his temper tantrum as Kate calmly told him off. Pippa wore a high-necked wedding gown designed by Giles Deacon with a classic lace veil while she said her nuptials to millionaire James Matthews.
Kate Middleton had to pull double duty as both Pippa’s sister and mother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte. According to PEOPLE, Kate previously told a guest a garden tea party held at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday that she was nervous about how her children would act at the wedding. It seems like George who was the one who got himself into a bit of mischief.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been open about being a mother. While she obviously loves being a royal wife and mother, she admits that she has struggled with depression. Kate spoke out about the importance of maternal mental health at the Out of the Blue film series, according to Hello! Magazine. She has been formally diagnosed with postpartum depression. She admitted that she needed help parenting since her mental health symptoms would get severe at times.
After Pippa and James exchanged vows, the wedding party headed over to the Middleton family home for their formal reception. Guests who weren’t invited to the wedding (like Meghan Markle and Vogue Williams) are said to mingle and dance the night away.
