The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Heather Tom (Katie) could have another job opportunity. She recently filled in as a guest cohost on The Talk and it’s making us wonder if a more permanent gig could be lined up. After all, this isn’t the first time Tom has been tapped as a replacement on the show.
Sharon Osbourne suffered a pinched nerve that required back surgery, so she’ll be taking a break from her cohosting duties while she recovers. Tom could be called back for future episodes if she’s needed. She obviously fits right in with the rest of the panel.
If you’re a fan of The Talk, you know that Osbourne tends to be absent more often than her cohosts. Sometimes it’s due to scheduling conflicts. Other times it’s due to personal drama or in this case, health issues. Osbourne may step away from the show completely at some point.
Then again, The Talk’s producers could always decide to fire Osbourne and go in a different direction. Regardless, Tom might be a frontrunner if a stable position opens up. Of course, she would have to go up against other repeat fill-ins like Carnie Wilson. There would be some stiff competition.
Still, Tom is part of the CBS family and they may want to promote from within. The Bold and the Beautiful hasn’t really been using Katie much lately. Even when Katie is on B&B, she tends to serve a supporting role as the meddler. Now that Tom’s airtime has diminished, she might be ready to explore other options.
In other words, Tom could be very tempted to leave The Bold and the Beautiful. If the price is right and she’s guaranteed a daily gig, we could see Tom on The Talk full-time. Nothing has been confirmed, but it’s an interesting idea to think about.
Now that the Spectra clan has taken over, there just isn’t as much room for all the usual B&B characters. Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) was a fan favorite, but she still got the ax. Could Katie suffer the same fate? If so, at least Tom might have other prospects.
