The Walking Dead spoilers tease that TWD fans are still upset over Glenn Rheed’s death on the show. He was one of the first characters to get knocked off in Season 7. Fans were outraged since he’s become one of the fan favorites. Actor Steven Yeun knows how much of an impact Glenn’s death made on the show and its fans. He believes that Glenn will live on through his wife Maggie, as she’s pregnant with his baby.
TWD spoilers have revealed that no one is safe on The Walking Dead. Over the years, various characters have come and gone. But, no one’s death has touched people like Glenn Rheed’s death. Maybe because it was so awful to see a villain like Negan carelessly kill a kind and compassion character like Glenn. Now, Steven Yeun is speaking out for the first time since Glenn Rheed’s death on The Walking Dead.
He was one of the original cast members on the AMC series. He became a core part of the story. Yeun made his debut in the second episode titled “Guts.” His voice was heard on the radio in the premiere episode, “Days Gone By.” Glenn Rheed’s appearance was there throughout the show. Then, came his death in the Season 7 premiere episode, “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be,” which took a devastating toll on fans.
The actor made an appearance at the Walker Stalker Con in Nashville, Tennessee over the weekend, reports Screenrant. On Sunday, June 4, Walker Stalker CEO James Frasier introduced Steven Yeun to the crowd. He opened up about the character’s death. It’s been nearly a year after it happened, and over a year since they filmed the death. Yeun talked about the fans who have been so kind to him after his departure from the show.
He remarked that the fans he come across are “very sad about the death,” but he’s happy about it. Yeun is obviously glad how much of an impact that the character has made on the show. He doesn’t think there will ever be another Glenn Rheed on The Walking Dead ever again. And, honestly, there doesn’t need to be. Yeun’s portrayal of Glenn was perfect, and there’s no need to try to recreate that.
There was already speculation that Glenn’s life would come to an end. In the comic books, it revealed that Glenn met his fate at the hands of Negan and his baseball pat, Lucille. There have been scenes that were taken directly from the original source, and Glenn’s death was one of them. He wasn’t the only character who died at the beginning of the episode. Michael Cudlitz’s character Abraham Ford was also killed by Negan at the beginning of the episode.
