The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Ravi’s (Abhi Sinha) romance will continue to heat up. After making love at the cabin, their relationship could go to a deeper level. Ashley has always been hesitant to move too fast with Ravi, but she’s finally letting go a little. She’s starting to see that it’s OK to have some fun and see where this might lead.
However, they may fizzle just as quickly. Once a couple is on cloud nine, there’s nowhere to go but down. Many Y&R fans seem torn about this pairing. Ravi is a great guy and he’s crazy about Ashley. He’s also a pleasant newbie who wasn’t shoved down our throats. All of that scores Ravi some points, but is it enough to make him the best love interest for Ashley?
The show has obviously had a tough time finding a suitable couple for Ashley to be part of. Ravi and Ash arguably feel a bit forced, but it’s been better than nothing. Still, The Young and the Restless spoilers state that Mal Young’s material will hit the screen this October. As Y&R’s new head writer, Young will have his own distinct vision for the CBS soap.
Will Young take these characters in new directions? Most soap pairings don’t stay together forever anyway. Something’s bound to break them up down the road. Perhaps Dr. Simon Neville (Michael E. Knight) could pop back up. Would Ashley drift back toward the doc if he returned to Genoa City?
As a bonus, they could write in a brain injury for another GC resident. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is evidently battling some issues right now. She could really use Dr. Neville’s help! It would be nice to have him in town again. Maybe Ashley and Dr. Neville deserve another chance.
Of course, there are other possibilities for Ashley. Some viewers have been enjoying the onscreen chemistry between Ashley and Graham (Max Shippee). They may not work as a couple due to brewing family drama, but it shows Ash can work with more men than Y&R writers seem to think.
What about Chris McKenna (ex-Detective Harding)? If they brought him in as a brand-new character, he might make a good love interest for Ashley. If not, there are surely other options out there. As for Ravi, he could be paired with Abby (Melissa Ordway) after her predictable Scott (Daniel Hall) fling. That might create be fun since Ashley and Abby would once again have been with the same man.
The Young and the Restless could even bring in someone new for Ravi. Whatever the case, it might be time to shake things up! Ravi would be heartbroken at first, but he could find a way to move on.
