The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) friendship will grow stronger. They already had an alliance going when Hilary wanted to keep Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) and Lily (Christel Khalil) apart. Now Cane and Hliary are becoming genuine pals. Hilary’s showing she has a heart by extending her support to Cane in his time of need.
Wednesday’s episode features sweet scenes between struggling Cane and sympathetic Hilary. Since Hilary has also established a bond with Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), she uses it to convince the twins to be there for Cane. Based on Hilary’s heartfelt gesture, there are a couple of ways Y&R could take this.
Hilary is still being a real menace to people like Jordan and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). She tends to be quite vindictive when someone gets on her bad side, which happens a lot. By having Hilary actually be nice for once, it might keep her from turning her into a completely loathed character. Hilary has to have a few redeeming qualities or she could become hard to tolerate.
Nevertheless, Hilary is a schemer and probably always will be. It’s tough to believe she won’t cause some drama for Cane eventually. Cane believes his divorce is moving forward, so he’ll try to let go of Lily. Once he’s ready to move on, Lily shouldn’t really be able to complain.
Of course, that wouldn’t stop Lily from piping up if Cane got too close to Hilary. Many Young and the Restless fans have noticed some chemistry between Hilary and Cane. They don’t make sense as a long-term pairing, but a romantic tease could be a useful plot point.
For starters, Hilary would just love to throw this in Lily’s face. It’s obvious that Lily’s still pining for Cane and Hilary knows it. If she kisses or even hooks up with Cane, Hilary would probably choose to rub it in.
However, this could actually be a win-win situation. Hilary could get the satisfaction of making Lily jealous and that jealousy could drive Lily back into Cane’s arms. Lily might be angry at first, but she’d get over it. How could she just let Hilary take her man, especially when she truly loves Cane?
