The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Juliet (Laur Allen) either made a crucial mistake during her deposition testimony, or purposely lied. Obtained hotel video footage showed her and Cane (Daniel Goddard) entering his hotel room after 10 p.m. and Juliet exiting after 7 a.m. the next day. But Juliet testified that they were drinking until approximately 2 a.m.
Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) hasn’t had time to review the video testimony that everyone has provided. He, like everyone connected to Brash and Sassy was stunned to see the footage Leslie (Angell Conwell) obtained.
The times noted are significant because an approximate four hour time difference counters Juliet’s claim about the length of time she and Cane were drinking. That discrepancy is suspicious and should weaken Juliet’s cause.
If Cane and Juliet stopped drinking someone after 10 p.m. then Juliet’s state of mind can be more strongly questioned than it has to-date. If she honestly recalled a different time (approximately 2 a.m., by her account), then it would appear that Juliet was too inebriated to distinguish between late evening and early morning hours.
Her mind set must be more firmly established. If Juliet was too drunk to know what time it was, then it stands to reason that she was also also unable to clearly understand what Cane supposedly implied to her. Cane testified that he was very drunk, a point that Juliet agreed with.
However, let’s assume that Juliet wasn’t being honest about the 2 a.m. hotel room entrance time. Does it then become possible that she somehow orchestrated the event? A theory that Juliet worked with the hotel staff to entrap Cane seems somewhat unlikely, as she likely would have made an exact comment about time issues while offering her testimony.
A skilled attorney like Michael can put Juliet’s state of mind, if not her intent in doubt. That’s one area where Juliet appears to be more vulnerable than Cane.
Juliet appears to be someone who is angry because she feels unjustly fired. On that point she’s right. And in playing off that anger, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) manipulated a law suit filing to purposely attack the Ashby family. Juliet, like Cane, might simply be the victim of other people’s games.
As viewers know, Cane purposely withheld information from many people about what happened that night. Juliet is now claiming that Cane offered to help her get a job in return for a romantic encounter.
