The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Sharon (Sharon Case) and Scott (Daniel Hall) have been written into two important storylines. The first is their relationship, the other involves exposing a potential prostitution ring in Genoa City.
Based upon the facts Christine (Lauralee Bell) has available to her, it seems as though Crystal (Morgan Obenreder) is just be a poor lone soul who was taken in by a bad guy. But viewers and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) know otherwise. And then there’s Zack’s (Ryan Ashton) still-to-be-defined role in this matter as well.
Scott was tapped and then tasked by Victor (Eric Braeden) with heading Newman Enterprises’ entrance into the online news world. That access and the power of The Moustache’s prestige and money will enable Scott to make an immediate impact of some type.
Viewers also knew that the placement of Sharon at the Crisis Hotline Center was more than just a volunteer effort. It set the stage for Crystal’s initial contact. Hopefully Obenreder’s character will contact Sharon again, while Scott is applying online journalist pressure.
Y&R has obviously positioned Tessa in Sharon’s home for a variety of reasons. One involves her link to Noah (Robert Adamson) and now, Mariah (Camryn Grimes). A future plot path was revealed when Tessa told Sharon’s daughter that Crystal was her sister. Combine Tessa’s recent outreach to Zack, his lie about being unable to help her and his subsequent call to a contact and this arc has deepened rather dramatically.
Mariah won’t necessarily have to betray the confidence Tessa asked her to keep. Sharon could always overhear, or somehow come to learn of the Crystal link. Then again, Crystal might feel compelled to tell Sharon about her sister when (not if) further developments take place.
So, Sharon has a personal connection to Tessa, who is Crystal’s sibling and Scott is Sharon’s significant other. Savvy Y&R fans took note of the Dylan (Steve Burton) swap the moment that happened by the way. As for a potential Abby (Melissa Ordway) dalliance disrupting Sharon and Scott’s romance, well that’s just speculation right now.
Shott is more than a romantic power couple in this instance. Instead, it strongly appears that these two characters are increasingly becoming key players in a concerted multi-character effort at stopping this illegal business from establishing roots in this fictional Wisconsin town.
Y&R is delivering an important message through the storyline that has Crystal in danger. It will be interesting to see if Sharon, Scott, or other characters put themselves into harm’s way before some type of resolution takes place.
