Jeffrey Tanner (Jeremy Piven) just receives an alert from Sophie with a photo of the same man leaving Mia’s (Abigail F. Cowen) apartment the night she died; he is seen having a fairly tight grip on her arm at the party. Jeremy goes to the hub, where the photo is identified as taken 5 months before she died; to determine if it’s the same man, Jeremy has Sara Morton (Natalia Tena) post it.

At the San Francisco Police Department, Jeff catches Dt. Tommy Cavanaugh (Richard T. Jones) in the elevator and asks for his help to see the records of the protest at the Berkeley Police, as the man could be one of them; Tommy refuses, saying no one want to help him because he accused them of not doing their jobs.

Dt. Ruiz sees Tommy and Jeff and calls him over, handing Tommy a flyer of a 13 yr-old boy named Antoine Reddick; when she notices Jeff is listening she pulls Tommy out of hearing range, asking him why Jeff is there when the department shut him down, she orders him to get rid of Tanner. He tells Jeff to use Sophie as long as it doesn’t violate rights and if he finds information on Mia’s killer and disappearance to present it to him, as they are not partners nor is he working the case.

Jeff takes a photo of Antoine before he leaves the precinct, after witnessing how devastated his parents are. He sends it off to Sara who posts it out to all the Sophie users. Meanwhile, Alex Hale (Monica Potter) continues with her work and welcomes Anna and her family to affordable housing; but the media don’t want to talk about housing but her ex’s project and if she feels Carlos Ochoa (Ramses Jimenez) is guilty of murdering their daughter; her campaign manager wants her to deal with this now before it gets out of control.
Ruiz is talking to Antoine’s parents, when Tommy and Jeff’s notifications go off. Jeff interrupts the meeting, explaining what is going on. Unfortunately, they are a little late, when one of the users finds the boy’s fitness jacket with the tracker inside. The devastated parents beg for Jeff’s help and the police agree to do whatever it takes to get their son back; Tommy is furious when Jeff says it looks like they are partners after all.

Jeff and Tommy bring the parents to the hive, where they ask them various questions and input the data. Josh (Blake Lee) and Tariq Bakari (Jake Matthews) banter back and forth, feeding ideas off each other. While Jeff is getting a drink, Antoine’s father shares how close he is to his mother, Camille. He says he was showing his son “dad” stuff but now all he wants is a second chance; Jeff hope he gets one.

Tariq calls Tommy over to show him Antoine’s gaming life, and there are clear threats from someone else; Tommy is upset thinking Tariq is breaking the law obtaining information but he says he has someone who is the game developer who owed him a favor; the gamer’s real name is Wayne Ruhl (Seth Coltan) and Dt. Cavanaugh calls it in. Mike Leigh (Malachi Weir) reminds Jeffry he is bleeding money but dismisses him when Sara comes in the room with more video and photos from the protest. Tommy tells them they have a lead on the Antoine case, he is being trolled by a man who has a record of robbery and assault and sexual offence of a minor and leaves to pursue the suspect.

The police raid the man’s place, only to find him sitting in his underwear playing a video game with minors. Tommy tells him to put on some pants!

Dt Cavanaugh and Dt. Ruiz question him about threatening Antoine; he admits it, saying it was online. He says Antoine is a punk and rips people off; back at the hive they discover irregular coding on the items Antoine had overpriced, and are determined to find out what he was selling. Sara wants to buy one, since they figured out it was class codes, and exam answers.

Jeff continues to question people who were at the Berkeley protest; Mia wasn’t at the protest, she was secretive, conflicted and struggled with her dad’s money and tended to keep to herself.

Alex does some research on Carlos Ochoa, while his mother goes to visit him, learning he is being hurt in prison but before he can say anything there is a big white man sitting behind her who keeps him from speaking. She shows him that Jeff is trying to help him, he sees the photo, recognizes something but tells her it doesn’t matter.

At the hive, Sara promises Sophie will find something. She tells him Antoine’s parents are hanging in there. Jeffrey feels like when this happens parents fall into a deep hole but Sara reminds him he built this out of his frustration, he appreciates her constantly pulling him from the ledge. Mike witnesses the exchange and asks to speak to Sara privately. Mike feels she should have a contract, with an appropriate raise of course. She crosses her arms and nods.

Tommy brings Jeff in to speak to the parents of every kid who bought the cheats from Antoine. He threatens them by saying if they don’t come forward with everything they know about Antoine, he will make sure their children are black balled from every college they’d dream of going to; one by one the kids speak to the police. Antoine’s parents think it is crazy their son had a whole secret life they didn’t know about.
Jeff and Mike are left alone in the hub when Jeff confronts him about giving Sara a raise. He admits he is concerned that Sara will take the company hostage if their relationship goes sideways. Jeff is furious because Sara was doing the ground-breaking work they need Sophie to do before they even started a relationship. Jeff is keeping their relationship a secret so she gets credit for the work she does, not because she is sleeping with the boss. He admits he wasn’t ready to reveal them together and isn’t sure he is yet. Mike says seeing Jeff with Sara made him look whole and hopes it can stay that way.

Alex becomes a new user on Sophie and when she signs in, she decides to see the evidence they have so far on Mia’s case. After seeing the newest photos she is about to make a call when her campaign manager distracts her.

Cavanaugh and Ruiz pick up a boy named Ken, who reveals Antoine was working with “tools” to help them take his spot for the Ivy league schools. He got into a physical fight with Antoine, kicking him, and when he looked around he couldn’t find him. He says he is applying to Yale and this could ruin his whole future.

Tommy and the search crew scour the area where Antoine fell. They find some of his belongings and believe he survived the fall but in the dark, he’d have no idea where to go. Tommy begins shouting out his name.

A search team arrives, with Antoine’s parents not far behind, they have an hour of daylight left. Jeff arrives and sarcastically greets others of the search team. He jokes about the great outdoors not being that special. Josh and Sara explain how the hive can help and it could give them the most probable place Antoine would be. The search team isn’t keen on their suggestions but since they are almost out of time, they have nothing to lose. Tommy asks for one team to go by their idea.

When they don’t find him but Jeff says they didn’t factor in the rain, all the users recalculate. The search teams are not following the data and Jeffrey is upset they won’t listen. Tommy asks if he is sure about this and they leave together to find Antoine. Tommy is calling out Antoine’s name when Jeff finds him; he is alive but they need paramedics. Sara praises Josh, saying he is the one who did it.

Antoine’s parents are thrilled to have him back and don’t know how to thank Jeff; Jeff tells his father, he has his second chance and to go be with his son. Back at the hive, Jeff signs into Sophie and is able to write CASE CLOSED! Alex does her speech saying Mia is the one who inspired her for doing her work in public service, she refuses to speak at all about Jeff and his invention. Tonight she wants to talk about her daughter and what she is doing in her honor, including the affordable housing.

Tommy also signs into Sophie, he calls Jeff saying he checked out the info from the protest but nothing matched the guy in the photo but there was one man stopped at a check point a few blocks away and he is sending him a picture of him, tattoos match. He name is Ryan Booth. Tommy promises to help him when he can and Jeff thanks him, asking if he can put it on Sophie; Tommy leaves it up to him. Jeff adds the information to Sophie and watches as the users check out the new evidence.

THE END!
