John Schneider and Emma Slater – Jazz – “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver

Judges Comments: Len: “That’s the way to open a show. It was full of fun, full of energy, and I am full of admiration. I don’t know if they do dancing at the Grand Ole Opry, if they don’t, you should be there because that was great, well done.” Bruno: “Country brought the best out of you and that routine was custom made to make you shine. You used every element you could use to have a good time. It was witty, your timing was so much better, you were sailing and it so wonderful.” Carrie Ann: “All you can do is do your best. I really tonight you did your best, you were so emotional and so open. You allowed the moment to flow from you so easily. You better be good if you are going to John Denver and you were good.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 8, Len 9, Bruno 8 = Total 25/30

Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe – Rumba – “Every Little Thing” – live performance by Carly Pearce

Judges Comments: Bruno: “What a transformation. You really have shape-shifted into this sultry, sexy, mature, irresistible woman. Seriously, that was a pure proper Rumba. The shapes were beautiful, the lines were great, everything was superb. It was wonderful.” Carrie Ann: “What you are doing is so good. you are making the kind of transformation that I haven’t seen since Kelly Osbourne. Where it is a true transformation, you have become a true latin ballroom dancer. You didn’t just dancer like a dancer, you embodied the technique. You are peaking at the right moment.” Len: “There was lovely articulation with the feet. I tried to look at every little thing and I didn’t find anything that I didn’t like.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 30/30

Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke – Charleston – “One Shot” by Hunter Hayes

Judges Comments: Carrie Ann: “Is there anything you can’t do? You make everything look so effortless and so easy, you hit everything so perfectly.” Len: “Its about five hundred miles from Charleston, South Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee, and you’ve turned those two cities so close to neighbors with a great mix of Charleston and country.” Bruno: “You two are still flying high. I tell you that they are better than FedEx, it doesn’t matter where, it doesn’t matter how they always deliver. This routine, the timing of this song was insane, you never missed a beat.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 10, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 30/30

Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile and Jenna Johnson – Tango – “Burning Man” by Dierks Bentley ft. brothers Osbourne

Judges Comments: Len: “It was a little bit unstable in place Joe, your footwork was poor but I must say, your feet are a long way from your heart and you always come out and attack the dance.” Bruno: “Imagine if Mad Max had to tango along bumpy roads, into the wilderness, surrounded around wildfire, into an explosion.. it looked exactly like that.” Carrie Ann: “I saw some familiar moves from last week that you did so well so I am happy they were back in. I really appreciate the way you don’t give up, you have captured the hearts of the audience and of me.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 7, Len 7, Bruno 7 = 21/30

Milo Manheim and Witney Carson – Foxtrot – “Born to Love You” – live performance by LANCO

Judges Comments: Bruno: “No messing around, no ifs or buts. A boy and a girl dancing beautifully, a classic foxtrot. You surprise me every week, always 100% believable.” Carrie Ann: “All I can see when I watch you is that you are the one to beat. Everything Bruno said I agree with but what makes you so special on top of that is you handle your height difference beautifully.” Len: “You danced with a maturity that I like, I admire your dedication. I would have liked a slightly stronger leg action. I thought you did a great job, I love watching you dance.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 10, Len 9, Bruno 10 = 29/30

DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold – Viennese Waltz – “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton

Judges Comments: Carrie Ann: “I have so much to say about that. Dancing is about creating a world and we all want to join in that world. You dance with full expression, it so dynamic and poetic for me.” Len: “You dance with a softness and elegance, the music build and you got aggressive. I think you need to work on your footwork.” Bruno: “That was irresistible, your dancing was very nice. I really liked that you did exactly what she wanted, you did everything correctly and beautifully. You danced like a true gentleman.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 9, Len 9, Bruno 9 = 27/30

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten – Samba – “Ladies in the ’90s” – live performance by Lauren Alaina

Judges Comments: Len: “There was so much Samba content in there and this was incredible, so many of my favorite steps. For me, this was the best routine of the night. Beautifully done, it was fantastic, trust me.” Bruno: “You two are a match made in Samba heaven. Even when you were bouncing, you were bouncing to the same heartbeat.” Carrie Ann: “You two are the sweetest Samba couple in the world. I am going to sound like the bad guy, you were just ahead of the beat. Relax into it a little.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 9, Len 10, Bruno 10 = 29/30

Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess – Viennese Waltz – “Can’t Help Falling in Love”– live performance by Chris Janson

Judges Comments: Bruno: “Top marks for effort because tonight you actually really tried. You only lost your footwork twice, you delivered what we asked of you, so well done.” Carrie Ann: “I really do appreciate the way you tried to have good body contact, but you were a little tense. You still have a team dance, you got another chance.” Len: “I think you get a bit, you lift your shoulders when you are scared. It is the quarter-final and what a great time to have your best dance.”

Judges Scores: Carrie Ann 8, Len 8, Bruno 8 = 24/30

#TeamJoeDown – “Country Girl” by Luke Bryan with Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten, DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold, Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile and Jenna Johnson, Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke.

Good partnering, some of you lost synch, but the number was smoking.” Carrie Ann: “There was so much going on that it was hard to focus on what was happening, I saw a few mistakes that Joe did, but I give you a lot of credit.” Len: “I have had a ball tonight, the dancing from everyone was great. I so enjoyed both of the teams.”
