Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that fans are buzzing about what’s next for Will (Chandler Massey). We know that Christopher Sean will be leaving the role of Paul down the road. He was paralyzed after a struggle with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) went horribly wrong. Paul fell several stories after tumbling out that window, so it’s easy to see why there was so much damage.
Will’s staying with Paul out of obligation, but his heart really lies with Sonny (Freddie Smith). There’s a good chance Paul will get the hint eventually. Deep down, he can probably already tell that he’s standing in Will’s way. Paul may just be too scared to let go. As he adjusts to life in a wheelchair, he could change his mind about holding Will back from true love.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) might find a clinical trial that takes Paul out of the country – or at least out of Salem. Theo (Kyler Pettis) also suffered some paralysis after getting shot. He’s currently undergoing treatment in South Africa, so DOOL may have a similar departure in store for Paul. Regardless, Days of Our Lives spoilers state that Paul’s exit will be left open-ended.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Sean has any interest in reprising this role. Never say never, but he’s clearly excited to pursue other projects. However, that doesn’t mean Sean wants Paul out of the picture. In fact, he supports the idea of recasting the character and putting him back on canvas.
Sean recently retweeted a TV Source article, which featured some recast options for Paul. This role clearly matters to him, even if he’s not the one bringing Paul to life. A while back, Sean also posted a message of praise for Hollywood. He feels like more ethnicities are being included lately, so that could be why he’s eager to see a Paul recast.
“So proud of Hollywood right now,” Sean said. “We have made bounds in the right direction… We are giving children of all ethnicities, role models they can relate to.” Days of Our Lives has set Will and Sonny up as the couple to root for, but there are plenty of Will and Paul fans out there. Could Days bring Paul back to shake things up for “WilSon” eventually? That’s a possibility to consider.
Regardless, it’s nice to know Sean’s reading up on DOOL drama and hoping for a recast. For now, Days of Our Lives spoilers say viewers will see the sorrow of Paul’s emotional exit.
