Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that another return is on the way, but there’s a bit of a twist. DOOL fans may recall that Kyle Lowder portrayed Brady Black from 2000-2005. After his Days departure, Eric Martsolf took over the role in 2008.
Of course, Martsolf is still playing the part and has no plans to leave. That’s why viewers are buzzing about Lowder’s looming comeback. We’ll have two handsome actors, but only one can play Brady.
Martsolf is arguably the more popular version and he’s been playing Brady for far longer. Days wouldn’t want to rock the boat by making him play somebody else, so he’ll keep the role. However, Days will still find a place for Lowder. Longtime fans won’t be disappointed by what’s in store.
In January, CDL reported on Lowder’s visit to the Days of Our Lives set. We explained that he could be meeting about a return stint and now that return’s happening. This is exciting news for Days watchers! Who will Lowder be playing? We’ve got confirmation on that, too.
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Lowder will appear as a Rex Brady recast. The part was previously played by Eric Winter from 2002-2006. If you’re not familiar with Rex, here’s a quick recap of his origin story. Rex and his twin sister, Cassie (Alexis Thorpe), landed in Salem during a meteor shower. They were mostly naked and couldn’t speak English, so they were thought to be aliens.
Obviously, things got pretty weird on DOOL in the early 2000s! Rex and Cassie underwent extensive testing, which revealed they were actually humans. After some confusion, Days finally settled on Roman (Josh Taylor) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) as their parents.
Rex dated Mimi (Farrah Fath), who’s also making a comeback. Mimi will only be around for a handful of episodes, but Days might want to keep Rex on hand for more stories. Perhaps Lowder could reunite with Nadia Bjorlin on screen. His version of Brady was in a popular pairing with Chloe. Poor Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) could be unlucky in love once again!
