General Hospital Spoilers: Does Ava Really Deserve GH Fans' Sympathy – Remorse Enough or Too Little, Too Late?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ava (Maura West) will remain a total mess over Kiki’s (Hayley Erin) sudden death. Several factors have collided to make this the most excruciating experience of Ava’s life. Some of them are beyond Ava’s control and others she’s solely responsible for. It should lead to an interesting discussion among GH fans. Does Ava really deserve our sympathy?

Ava was shocked when Griffin (Matt Cohen) filled her in on Kiki’s murder. She refused to believe it, even after she saw Kiki’s cold, lifeless body. It was tough to watch Ava shout that her lesson had been learned. She tried to convince herself this could be Kiki’s cruel trick, but it was Ryan’s dark scheme instead.

Once Ava finally accepted the loss, it really hit her hard. She spent the night crying over old photos and warm memories of the daughter she truly cared about. That’s where most of Ava’s guilt comes in. Her final months with Kiki were full of hostility and hate. Ava undoubtedly feels like Kiki died without knowing her mother genuinely loved her.

Now General Hospital spoilers say Ava’s heading into the rage phase of her grief. It’ll be too hard to bear the blame on her own, so she’ll hold Griffin at fault. Ava’s furious with Griffin over his betrayal, which led to this horrible rift between Ava and Kiki. She’ll hold him at gunpoint and vow to make him pay for Kiki’s murder. Griffin’s innocent of the crime, but Ava is in no condition to be reasonable.

The good news is Ava won’t kill Griffin. The bad news is she’ll remain close to the killer himself. How’s Ava going to feel when she realizes she inadvertently put this death in motion? By letting Ryan in her life, Ava led to her daughter’s grim fate.

Of course, Ava just thinks she’s growing closer to Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) the suddenly fascinating shrink. Ryan’s duping her, but he’s definitely made some questionable observations about Kiki and Ava’s wrath. Should she have let herself get drawn into that?

Ava even tried to rip Kiki and Griffin apart by drugging Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) for a sex setup. She knocked Griffin out and put him in bed next to Sasha, so it’s clear that she crossed a lot of lines. Ava’s actions certainly don’t make us have much sympathy for her, but her reaction to the loss was absolutely devastating. Any person with a heart would be moved by how gutted Ava is over this.

Is it enough that Ava feels remorse now or is it too little, too late? Do you think Ava deserves General Hospital viewers’ sympathy? We’ll give you updates as other GH details emerge.
